2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

So my first CEL came on at 1,200 miles, it seemed like it was just a short problem at start up because it ran perfectly after it shut off (because it was a remote started so as soon as the engine light came on, it shut down). I cleared the check engine light and drove it for another 1600 miles before it did the same thing. The first time it did it the truck was full of gas and the second time it did it. It only had a quarter of a tank. I have always filled the truck up at two different gas stations using top-tier gas, where I fill up all of my other vehicles. From what I have deduced, this has to be software related and not mechanical otherwise it would continue repeatedly, the fact that it happened randomly 1600 miles apart says to me it has to be software related.

I have been checking daily for anything from Ram on this, nothing official yet. I will share a confirmed issue with a misfire, multiple techs have confirmed this concern. I hope this helps one or more of you with the issue.

Thanks for the info! I will check my wiring harness tomorrow!

2025 1500 Bighorn with Hurricane ~1,200 miles and my check engine light kicked in. Dealership desk OBD monitor didn't work - too new, so I have service appointment today to diagnose the issue. Plan to tow 25' RV in a few weeks and hopefully issue will not impact that trip
Service tech said it was a loose connector.. not 100% certain I agreed. A month later it 'misfired' during start-up from a stop-start event. In about 50 miles (or more) the engine light cleared itself.

Well I’ve joined the club. 2025 Laramie SST here and 1300 miles with check engine light. Dealer claims I have a defective ignition control module and it’s back ordered. No eta. 😩

I feel like every person who posts here about a check engine light on their dealer tells them it’s something different, which leads me to believe they’re all just pulling these diagnoses out of their *** 🤣.
I still dont know how many 2025s have been sold to date and how many of them have the CEL issue. It is hard to determine the mean and possible root causes.
However, I agree with the wild-*** diagnosis by many dealers pulling s....t out of their rear end.

People really need to be scanning the codes themselves before taking it in.
Any chain parts store can for this free.
Possibly there are many different issues.
Possibly not.
Certainly sounds like they’re just making up diagnosis.

My dealership has run the gambit of "diagnoses " that have all been listed on this thread, except loose connectors (probably next)...first was software update, next kinked fuel line, and now I'm waiting on a fuel pump that wasn't putting out...tech did ask what fuel I use ( probably to blame me)....connectors I was told were Ram's sourced out of Mexico ( I could be wrong). My truck was sourced out of Michigan, I guess that doesn't mean some parts might be from Mexico though (just spitfiring). It would be nice if the Mensa Society Ram Division would find the solution and not bullsh*t loyal customers (but that is dwindling). Lemon Laws are gonna be their nightmares....

I feel like it can’t be a huge number of the sold trucks just enough of them from the same production runs to make it seem like there’s a lot. That could just be wishful thinking on my end.

Well here’s yet another update for my 2025 Ram 1500…. I wound up getting pissed about the service department at the dealership pretty much sitting on their hands with the truck and just parking it out in their lot and then me having to go back and forth to the dealership 3 times in a 2 week span to deal with swapping out loaner vehicles I took to X and started commenting on a bunch of Stellantis and Ram Trucks post over the weekend… Monday I get a DM from Ram Trucks asking for information pertaining to my situation. I dumped the entire story on them so Tuesday they set me up with a Ram support case number and case manager to help resolve the issue. Tuesday evening I also sent a long irritated email to the dealership GM/owner. Today I get a call from the Ram corporate case manager assigned to my case and let her have it for damn near a solid 10 mins on the phone as she was taking notes. At the end of the call the case manager extends the offer to reimburse my loan payment for each day that they are in possession of the vehicle.

Later this evening I get a call from the sales manager of the dealership telling me that they just got in an identical truck to mine on their delivery today and they want to offer to exchange truck for truck so I no longer have to deal with the lemon that Stellantis built.

So all in all I am getting a different truck most likely Friday, and they are going to be cutting a check to pay the loan while they’ve had the vehicle.

Let’s just hope this replacement isn’t a lemon as well!

Well...fuel pump did not come into the dealership yesterday (I dont know why this is srprising given the run around Im getting on this issue)...no call from the Service Tech. I call the Service Department and another Mensa Society inductee looks up my information and cannot find any notations of when the fuel pump will be in for replacement and has to put me on hold to gather the limited information he had (none)...Wouldnt it be prudent to have notes on cases so that anyone can deciminate that information to cusomers if needed or the Service Tech that is on the case is absent and cannot take a call?? The tech said he would "put a note in my file" for the Service Tech on my case to give me a call today (odds I get a call?). Not only is Ram's product f**ked but their service department went to sh*t. I wonder what my 2009 Ram 1500 is doing atm....
Surprise surprise...fuel pump didnt come in and won't be in until next week now...another excuse and another week delay...the beats just keep on hitting. Anyone have any Lemon Law advise?? I don't want to go to that because I like this truck but I can't have this repair going into perpetuity either.

Depending on State law, check with an attorney that specializes in that.

I lemon lawed a truck last year. File a formal complaint with ram if you haven’t already and then contact the better business bureau. I didn’t even need a lawyer once the BBB was involved.

What fuel pump are they saying it is?

Lemon law it and try another. My money is on these early '25s will have more issues than later builds.

I am no gear head so I am not sure. I was just told the faulty one's replacement ordered was not putting out what was needed. I didnt know there were multiples in vehicles. I really get sporadic details on my truck as it is. Today got a call that the part did come in today but won't be fixed until next week. Next week is it!!! I can't keep taking hits off the chin without striking back!!
