I just traded in my 19 ram 1500 Laramie for a 25 Laramie.I transfered my A.R.E bed cap which fits good. The problem is the wiring for the bed caps keyless lock feature. My bed cap dealer stated a wiring change and that the voltage going through the wire is not high enough. Any one with similar issues? Solutions? FYI this was confirmed by 2 different dealers.

The locks are all 12VDC so I am assuming that what they are saying is that the trigger circuit that you would normally tap into, has been changed to a different voltage on the 2025 models.
In this instance, you may be able to use relays to trigger or possibly just order a new lock kit that matches the truck. If such an item is even available yet.

The real question will be what that trigger voltage is.?.?

You are correct. Im guessing that means there door lock actuators must have a power module built in. As im typing this i never thought to see if the actuators changed. Looking it up now.

I just purchased a new A.R.E. cap for my 2025 Ram 1500 with the keyless entry option. My dealer tells that it is a voltage change in the new model year that is a problem. A.R.E. has not yet developed a solution for it and has no ETA.

Were you able to get this issue resolved?

Checking in here to see if anyone has found a solution. Running into the same issue at Leonard installing a Leer cap on a ‘25.

Wondering about this as well. I picked up a 25 Rebel and added an overland topper. Bought new auto locks to add to it before seeing this potential issue. Has anyone found a solution?

I ordered a Leer with the additional interior lighting and power block options for my Rebel at a dealer in Ontario a week ago. First thing he asked was if my truck was a pre-25 model or not because their installation would take a few hours longer and cost more if it was a 25+. Apparently the Leer 7-way Interface T-Harness does not work on the 25+ models and they can no longer tap directly into the truck harness at the back for power. Their solution is to make up a harness that runs from under the dash somewhere to the back to properly power the optional accessories. Mine is a 22 so fortunately it is straight plug-and-play with the T-harness.
