2025 1500 with transmission issues/disappointing

My 2025 also has the clunky trans. Either a downshift or going slow and taking my foot off accelerator makes it feel like a manual transmission in the wrong gear. Dealer has had it once already, thinking of switching dealers at this point
I’m having the same issue with mine I’ve complained about it almost since it was new bought it in November, just spent 3 trips to the new dealership, cause old one didn’t want to deal with any issues said it’s fine. Less than 6k on it. Got a new transmission and helped one issue but the clunk between 2-1st at on slightly even or uneven is terrible. I was told it’s a know issue an no fixes as of now, $62000. for a crappy drivability problem, what the heck Ram. This truck has had a new battery and at least 5 modules replaced in it. As well as been in the dealerships for almost 2 months out of the 10 months I’ve had it. Then picked it up today and park sensors acting up as well as the uconnect lighting up half one button and another in gray. This is ridiculous, been a dodge/ram owner all my life with close to 10 of them being new. So disappointed at where I’m at right now with this truck.

This is gonna be a stupid question, but is it a transmission issue you guys are experiencing or a drivetrain issue. Also, this is a shot in the dark as I don't tow or use trailer brake controller, but I remember a similar thread a couple years ago where some one discovered that the trailer brake settings was the culprit even when they were not in tow mode if that makes any sense.

Mine hasn’t had a trailer behind it yet and so I don’t have a break controller, yet any towing I would do would be 16’ utility trailer. Being the transmission replacement I would hope I didn’t get two bad ones. Also on the original transmission they did a few things to the valve body but when I took it back the next week cause still had issues they replaced it. Mine is definitely most noticeable at 1 and 2nd. The shifting in higher speeds you don’t really notice any issues.

Sorry to hear all your troubles man. Wow. I’ve had mine for 10 weeks It’s been in the shop 3 of those. It’s in the ShopRite now so far the battery has died for no reason and the backup camera gives me a blue screen, and the Blindspot monitoring locks itself on and there’s a vibration in the whole truck at any speed that makes you wanna drive it into a tree And on delivery there were scratches on the top of the tailgate on the inside of the driver’s door and a nick in the rear corner, all of which have been fixed now, but the shines worn off, not even looking forward to getting it back because I’m sure will just be more problems 3k miles on it. For the vibration so far, they have replaced all the wheels and tires, but that didn’t fix it so they put the original ones back on and they tested run out on the front axles and they were fine and they replaced the driveshaft none of which solved the vibration. I also know I felt clunking in the transmission and herky-jerky gear changes I just haven’t even been able to focus on that yet.

So, the ECM flash helped for a bit, but the low speed transmission issues continue. Also, I noticed that if I take off from a dead stop I get two different responses based off of my acceleration. If I floor it, there is a momentary hesitation, but then it accelerates through the gears forcefully and (relatively) smoothly. If I'm only partially depressing the gas pedal, I get a whole bunch of gear seeking, jerkiness, hesitation, and just a plain crappy driving experience. I've also been noticing a lot more weird electric bugs start appearing, like my backup camera going out on occasion, and I have to stop, put it into park, then back into reverse for it to come back on, or yesterday morning when I had to hit the Unlock button on my fob seven times just to get the rear door to open (when it normally just takes two). I did go back to the dealer last week to have them look at the transmission, but without a CEL, and without any codes, they said the best they could do is keep it for a few days to see if they can reproduce what I am reporting. Of course, they had no service loaner trucks available at the moment, so that wasn't an option. I paid $54,100 OTD for a well-equipped Big Horn with a set of upgraded leather Katzkins, but after 3,700 miles, Carmax says its worth $40k. Previous two trucks were twin turbo V-6 Ecoboost F-150s that I put 100k miles on without a single issue, and I'm starting to think that trusting Stellantis was a bad move.

Mine was the same way when i bought my truck. Like a horse unhappy with its rider. But after a few sour apples and sweet oats she behaves.
May need a software update. Enable wifi and park it close to a source and check for updates. Should be done at the dealership. But they like to play stupid when it comes to such things. You’ll just get the GEN X stare if you try to explain this to the service guy.

Try the update. And take it on a few spirited drives and then see how she behaves.

Do u have the update number?

Sent mine back in and received the update. Ran fine for a day or two and it’s back to the clunky gear change and inconsistent acceleration. These issues should find its way up the corporate ladder.

Ram has proven to be very disappointing. My truck is still in the shop 15 days so far, and this is the Third visit! The battery drained no reason i can think of, they say they topped it off and it's holding but no word of a "fix" so i guess i can expect it to happen again. They tested the wheels and tires for the vibration i get all speeds, not those, so tested run out on the front axles, no issues, so removed the rear drive shaft and drove it and had no vibration now waiting for a new drive shaft. My understanding is that driving without rear driveshaft, and at highway speeds to boot, is Bad. So even if they fix it now, i have that on my mind that they over stressed the front drive components, granted it was only 6 miles test driven that way.
Just a bit of info from my experience. Bought a brand new 2025 Laramie Sport, it's been a headache since I got it, but besides the point. One major issue I had was battery draining. They replaced it twice before they realized the aftermarket "Karr" lo-jack that they installed on the vehicle was draining the battery while parked. I had them completely remove that thing and it's been fine since. I think a lot of dealers install those Karr trackers, it might be worth checking into. Hope that helps.

Thanks. They say its the electric running boards but those were installed for months before it went dead overnight one night, so i doubt its that. Over the phone they said they have a communications protocol software update they found fixes the battery issue. However all they've done is disconnect the power running boards and say its fixed so far. So i can pretty much expect another visit for dead battery in the future. if i ever get the truck back. replaced drive shaft didn't fix vibration, placed sensors and drove it and pointed to rear left axle they replaced it, didn't fix it. been at the shop for a month now. Making payments and paying insurance on a vehicle i don't have, and had stopped driving before i even took it into the shop the third time because the vibration makes you lose your mind. I give them two more weeks, if the STAR case doesn't fix it, then time to start the Year Long process of buy back. Then i get to order another one and wait three months and see what problems it comes with.

My 20 Limited was hit in an accident (indian driver making a left of a flashing yellow, hit 3 of us) and enterprise gave me a 2025 Laramie SST that I've had for about a month. Its transmission was a little clunky at slow speeds, under 25 mph driving through my neighborhood. Upon seeing the quote to repair my truck, I decided that it was time to sell it and started looking for and bought a Tungsten.
The Tungstens trans has been silky smooth, just like my Limited, even at slow speeds through my neighborhood. I did ask the dealer to do any and all software updates prior to shipping it. IDK if they did or not but so far, so good

Mine was 3 months at the dealer, STAR case, the whole thing. Reached out to NCDS to start the lemon buyback. Within 4 days FCA emailed me stating they are initiating the buyback. I don't think I'm going that route, but fwiw, it shouldn't take that long id hope.

It should be illegal to install a dealer added tracker !!
