I have a sneaking suspicion that within reason they're going to produce the "trophy trucks" and higher-margin units first pending availability of components. More $$ faster in the coffers before buyers bail and switch to other options. Business 101. All vehicle manufacturers make a LOT more margin on the higher-spec'ed units than the "mainline" trims. So I know that you all are gonna LOVE this…
A dealer on the TRX forum just posted up some POCs for a few 2022 orders he’s made - he’s trying to sell them.
One of them is already in D1 status. It was ordered on 8/6, with a VIN of 150720.
So…I’m totally confused. This means that Sold Orders are NOT taking precedence over Dealer Orders. And I don’t know why this truck is being gatelined over trucks that were ordered 3 months earlier.
Edit: the dealer just responded that this was a sold order that the buyer backed out of. That helps partially explain it, but not the fact that it’s an August order (over May/June/July orders). It appears to be a bare-bones TRX, so perhaps it’s not as affected by the shortage.

I'd bet Chevy and Ford are making the same moves. I noticed some of the MY22 Super Duties are hitting already despite the debacle of 1000's of trucks rotting in outside storage and they appear to be high-spec units overall.....
Aside from this I'm very curious how the model mix nationwide/worldwide compares from the matrix @triple_B created vs. RAM's mix as an entirety...
