2022 Orders

Just want to put this out there, is anyone else hearing that there are still restrictions on certain packages. My dealer is telling me that on the Limiteds there is still a restriction on the night edition. Canadian dealership.
What type of restrictions are you talking about. Didn't see any restrictions when I ordered mine in early September.

Updated info, from a SHAP insider:

Day shift didn't run any TRX's but they were doing 22's in basic colors with the 5.7 and 3.6 engine.
Thanks eighty. Btw what happens pilot trucks?

he basically has told me that my order has not been picked up yet because of the restrictions on packages (night edition)

Good question. I don't know, to be honest. It's my understanding that they are never resold to consumers, but what actually becomes of them is a mystery to me.

Daily update for new additions (@dmerrell, @GandB21, @DizzyDean13). I assume that the 2022's are starting today, but won't really know for sure until @triple_B gets his scan done. I've checked a few VINs for build sheets, but haven't seen any yet (needle in a haystack).

My Dealer said that its in D status, Can you tell what status this is? he told me back in june when we ordered it but i forgot the process.

Someone on a FB group said they built 500 today. So right inline what @Eighty heard.
Does this mean 500 the first shift, or 500 for all three shifts. Still another shift to go for today.

Well as it has been said through numerous posts today. Production of any 22's has only just started today. Depending on the last 6 of your VIN and when you originally placed your order should give you an approximate idea of your timeline. Of course nothing is going to be set in stone. Do you have a POC with a VIN yet?

I think that’s part of the issue, he’s saying it hasn’t moved forward or picked up by Chrysler because he is still seeing a restriction on ordering the night edition on the limited trim. I think it’s likely some BS but they have been honest with almost everything else. I have a POC sheet but no VIN yet, just a VON. It is listed as a sold order on the POC with my name and contact info on the bottom (hopefully Chrysler doesn’t reject it as a dealer order)

I don't understand how they're producing 2022's but still haven't updated the build & price on the website...

website build & price is intended to reflect current dealer inventory

same reason why the old model year stays on the website long after they’ve stopped making them

Maybe sold movie sets to b destroyed. Lol

It depends what build phase they are in. If they are considered a saleable unit they go to auction. If they are early pre-production they are crushed. Just depends on what phase of the prebuild phase they come out of. Early production or tool trial vehicles are all scrapped. They do get to a point where they can be sold.

Everyone should visit an auto plant at some point in their life. Come visit us in Michigan and go to the Henry Ford Museum and take the Ford Factory tour. You can see F150 production live. It will give you an appreciation for how complex vehicle assembly is. Having worked in the auto industry for 20+ years and being exposed to it you get a little desensitized :)

I toured the truck assembly plant when chrysler had one in st louis. great experience.
my dad worked a stamping plant when they had one in twinsburg ohio
it really is a wake up call.
also toured the corvette plant.
the thing that was most amazing is all these people work on a vehicle and it starts the first time, most of the time.

Thats not true as far as any of us know. If they restrict a package, you can't order it so they wouldn't hold your order up in lieu of a time where you could.
you'd either place the order without the package or you would Wait until you could proceed.

I mean that is literally the way I ordered mine. Limited, with Night Edition through my dealer I used to work for. Got picked up and issued a VIN the next business day. Not sure what your hold up would ever be. Even after that changed some of the options around, I didn't think anything changed in the Night edition.

Dang that makes me nervous
