Team,
I need advice. I want to preface the conversation by stating that I always keep my stuff clean and neat. This truck has never been off-road and is a total pavement princess. My 2020 has 6800 miles on it and while driving on Saturday my wife was telling me the truck smelled funny and that she was feeling sick. I told her my allergies seem pretty bad and that she may be having some as well. When I got home I decided I would vacuum my pedal sticking death matt and decided I would make sure there wasn’t any dust under the matt. I remove the matt and what do I see? Mildew, freaking mildew in my brand new truck that I paid cash for like an idiot. In a state of shock I vacuum the mildew up and realize that the carpet is damp. I didn’t take a picture of the carpet but I damn sure remembered to take one when I pulled the door sill and pulled back the carpet. I took it to my dealer and they are more than supportive of gutting my interior and replacing the carpet and slamming it back together. They will also fix the leak per the TSP which requires removing the fender and a spray and pray method with sealant. This is B.S. I told the dealer I do not want the truck back and I want FCA to roll my hard earned cash into a different vehicle. This sh#t made my wife sick and there is no guarantee that they will get all the mildew out of it. This will be my last RAM. What a disappointment. Can anyone give me advice on how to hold FCA accountable? Do I need to lawyer up here? I do not want this truck back. Period.
