Thank you for the information and the detailed layout. One question, were the cracks in the window frame on the top or the bottom of the window? Working to try a silicon fix but want to confirm location. Thank you.
Top of the frame, standard points of failure are both sides of the slider and little ways down the corners.
I applied permatex all the way across the top and about 1/4 of the way down the sides.

Appreciate the quick response and info. I did an initial layer of Permatex similar to what your picture showed but still having the issue. I have a new third brake light assembly on the way. My issue is that I have a shell on the truck so getting access to that area is a little trickier. My plan is to pull the shell and basically seal off the whole back window and 3rd brake light assembly with a really thick layer. I don't even need the brake light to work just not leak as I have the shell on. Thanks!

The updated "AH" brake light has a lot thicker gasket so should address that leak issue.

I’m in the middle of trying to get Ram care specialist to return my calls. My truck is currently at the dealer waiting to see if they will cover this issue…. Clearly a manufacturer defect. My 2019 only has 40 ish thousand miles on it. So disappointing to have to beg to get these defects addressed

I just brought my truck in for the rear window leak from being repaired 3 weeks ago, had only leak on both sides of rear window 3 weeks ago 3rd brake light replaced, now 3 leaks today water coming down center of slider from the top! Mopar is covering rear light for 8yrs and rear glass for 10 xtending factory wty. 2019 limited and I’ve had rear glass replaced twice maybe 3 times now? Also 3 new 3rd brake lights, all new headliner from stains n nothing for my hassle! The gasket on that 3rd brake light is trash! Rather use duct seal!! Well c what they come up with they’ve got it!!!!

If you went to the same dealer each time, maybe the issue is the installation by the dealer, and not so much the parts anymore. Especially it's leaking again after just three weeks

Just took my 2021 Ram 1500DT into the dealership for repairs with 35K miles and some change, 3-36 warranty is almost up but not quite. I was told mother Mopar only warranties the rear power slider windows for 12 month of 12K miles, it is not covered under the 3-36. Makes sense from a big company, exempt a part with a very long history of failures to transfer costs to the customer. The window frame is definitely cracked, so guess I'm stuck to pony up the cash to replace it and wait for it to fail again. Too bad the class action suit got shut down in 2023.

Thanks for the great ideas for installing the "gutter" across the rear wall. This thread was extremely helpful. Although will admit I'm tempted to just try to pump the gap full of windshield urethane adhesive to seal it up. Sad that a barely used truck is at that state this short into it's life. Don't want to drive around waiting to smell mold or have the electronics fry out from water contamination.

Know my length of ownership of this truck just greatly decreased if that's how Stellantis and Ram Care stand behind their product, seems they don't even try to fix a known problem. Guess it's back to the blue oval and stay with them for the next one. Very disappointed Ram. And yes I know, I'm venting..... lol

Right from the bat. Go to a different dealer.
The window glass is covered for 12 months.
The back lite frame is covered for 3-36.
I am looking at a letter in front of me from Mopar.
It states that my backlite warranty has been extended to 8 years or 150 thousand miles, which ever comes first.
Your glass is not the problem, the frame is what has failed!

search the other threads on this topic. There is a TSB for this. Bring it with you when talking to these dummy service advisors.

Thanks Kapinallinen. That's what I told them but they claimed they have had them rejected when a warranty claim is submitted. From what I was told the frame and window are considered one unit.

Yep, I looked at that and the frame is not cracked in that spot. The crack is near the corner at the top on the passenger and drivers side. Very visible on the exterior of the truck.

I agree with you guys, not trying to be ignorant. It is just frustrating how long this goes on and they turn a blind eye.

Tried 2 dealerships, one by phone one in person. No help. Going to have to burn a vacation day to try to get this taken care of to hunt down someone who can I guess.

In the process of pulling the seats to protect the controller from tomorrow's rain storm and impending flood.

Go to a different dealer, have them get a water intrusion specialist involved to see if the glass is leaking or if the frame is leaking.
Cut and dry IMO.

Bought the truck used and didn't think Ram Cares transferred?

Problem is finding a good JDR dealership around me. None are local and the one good one is so swamped they can't get me in for at least 4 weeks to even look at it but didn't have any high hopes of it passing a warranty claim. Going in with the TSB this week where I bought it, which is who I talked to on the phone due to distance, and hopefully can convince them to do something or at least help out.

Thanks again.

That TSB only covers most, not all, trucks built before Sept 2020, so not many 2021s covered, and no 22+

Thanks, hadn't had time to read through the TSB completely yet. Not going to lie, just looked at the images real quick. Got the seats out, soaked carpet rolled forward to dry a bit and the module taped off to protect it from rain/leaks.

Thought about permatex but the urethane windshield adhesive is even more durable, stays black and pliable for years too. Locally owned, non big chain store carries it and I've used it many times for resealing around old glass with long term success. Just don't want to be the guy trying to remove that slider in the future, piano wire trick will be real tough to saw through it all.

I'm going to give the dealer his chance and hope they step up but have a feeling I know where I will land, in line at the parts store 2 tubes of urethane in my hand....

Do appreciate all the input.

A truck built in 2020 can be a 2021 model year. Year built doesn't equate to manufacture model year.
