I hope there is some one else with the same question...
I was told that for 2021 this option will be available but since I have a 2019 longhorn all I can wonder if is there is an aftermarket that anyone’s knows about it ???
i want to keep tow mirrors but it seems nice to have the 360 can view.
thank you

Time will tell if the mirrors from a '21 are a direct bolt-on and plug-in for 19/20's.
I am definitely hoping to put the power fold tow mirrors on my Laramie when the parts become available.

The tools are out there to activate the options in the truck.

Original Specs
2019 Ram 1500 Laramie, 360 Camera, Safety Group, Tow Package, 12"

Currently been following these threads:

Parts that are currently installed on the truck for this project:
68446972AA - Outside Rear-View Mirror, Right
68446973AA - Outside Rear-View Mirror, Left
68517699AA - Door Module, Front Left
68517698AA - Door Module, Front Right
68451000AE - Surround Camera Processor Module (68451000AC Superseed by AD then AE)

Hardware install was straight forward for the mirrors, door modules, and CVPM and all connections were easy.

Have ran into 2 problems, that I need help with:
1. Can not get the rear facing LED spotlights to work (Yes Cargo Light is selected, the light comes on from the 3rd brake light and bed lights)
-Fixed by replacing my 2019 BCM with a 2021 BCM
2. Can not start the calibration
-Fixed in post below, 2019 ram 1500 tow mirror with 360.
Of note this was with a 2019 BCM and 4UConnect. I have not tried to do this after installing the 2021 BCM.

AlphaOBD settings vehconfig 1: model year 2021
Doors: Tow Mirror Present - Enabled
2500 Setting: Doors: Mirror Rear Guidance Lights

For issue one
- I am not sure if it is a 2019 BCM issue or not. Looks like another person just hardwired (Post #123)
Fixed with 2021 BCM

For issue two:
- With the 2021 CVPM I can not get the calibration to start with any option (Force, Single, etc). All Soft Keys work (Back Up, Surround, Front, Rear, Zoom). The truck has the factory 2019 360 Camera on it. I was able to calibrate the original mirrors with the original CVPM, trying calibration with Tow and the original CVPM resulted in Tow Mirrors failing.
With the Tow Mirrors and new CVPM I always will get a status of Failed. Conditions not correct or Request sequence error. This is with numerous setups from stopped to 8 mph, disconnected and reconnected while driving.

- Fixed via post below

I have a question I am currently looking at a 19' longhorn and it has the power tow mirrors but I am pretty sure the surround view was deleted from the factory. Would I be able to just get the regular mirrors with cameras and then turn them on in alfaobd or would I have to purchase modules, front camera, and side mirrors with cameras? If I have to buy all the extra stuff I am assuming it's better to just upgrade to the 21' tow mirrors with cameras and how hard is it to install the front camera on the grill or would I have to replace my grill as well? Thanks in advance!

Success!!!

Alright - Success. Attached are the logs.
Steps I used -
1) Open AlphaOBD
2) Connect the OBDLink MX+
3) Connect to CVPM Via Advance Mode
- Once Connection Established -
4) Go to Manual Connect
**Within the Send Command:**
4a) Type 8502 - Hit Send...Do this twice.
5) Within Status Fault - Select - Clear Faults
6) Disconnect via Start / Advance Mode
**It will still say connected**
7) Select Connect - You will see the connection reestablish
8) Within Status Fault - Select - Clear Faults
9) Go to Active Diagnostics - Select - CVPM Service Calibration
9a) Selection Option - Front Camera
9b) Start going 2 - 8 MPH. (I kept it about 3-5 MPH)
9c) Select Start - It took about 30 seconds to 1 minute on a successful calibration
** Successful will give you a green check mark and return back to a 360 view with all 4 camera blacked out within 360 view **
10) Repeat steps 4 through 9 with changing the Camera to Left, then Rear, then Right.
**Once complete you will get your 360 Tow Mirrors working !!!!!!

You will have to follow the adding 360 portion for the front camera. Then for the tow mirrors do the above, with all the parts. Not difficult, just time consuming and sometime with alpha obd.

Thank you I ordered the right one also had the door module issue bought the ones needed could not get them to work either I was told that 2019 bcm wouldn’t be able to do it I hardwired the lights as well now stuck with the door modules 🤣

Contact Jimmy07. He will know if it is possible.

What was the outcome of this? I just ordered the parts to add powered tow mirrors and 360 to uc5 on my 2019.

So I am glad to report I was successfully able to get the back-up LED to work as OEM with the 360 tow mirrors using a 2021 BCM.

You will need to swap your 19 BCM with the 21 BCM, along with all items mentioned above. I had to do it via dealer then re enable everything via alpha. Then reset the ecu and mirrors held the calibration and the LED worked.

@Signalscout You have 2 options - Hardwire the LED or to swap to a 2021 BCM. After installation of the 2021 BCM and reconfiguring the BCM for the tow mirrors the LED worked as mech'd with.
