2019 Ram 1500 Limited ... the worst truck I've owned

I'm about three years into ownership now with 95k miles on my truck now.

Less than a year into ownership, my dashboard began to bubble up and slowly peel off on my $60k truck. I had the entire dashboard replaced under warranty back in 2020 and a few months later ... the bubbling began again and no dealership would fix or replace it since I wast past my 36k mile warranty & my extended warranty through mopar wouldn't cover it. Today, the dash looks absolutely terrible.

I also recently had to go about a month without my truck due to a cracked exhaust manifold needing to be replaced. The tech at the dealership said that apparently evap leaks and cracked exhaust manifolds on these trucks are common because of the "**** poor design" we've still been battling finding what's going on with my truck now because I had the P4056 & P219A code pop up again even after changing the exhaust manifold. The whole cab stinks of gas if I fill up above 3/4 of a tank.

Aside from those two issues, the trucks had random issues throughout ownership. The usb ports under the large screen just stop working randomly. The auto start stop randomly says it needs servicing and the techs don't know why it does that apparently. I've changed spark plugs & coil pack boots but still get terrible fuel economy too.

Honestly, I'll never buy Ram again after this. The customer service is terrible and the truck just feels like poor build quality for what's supposed to be a "luxury truck". Never had any issues like this with my Platinum F-150.

Had a similar experience with my Ford 2018 XLT. Dashboard warped around year one Ford did step up replaced it unfortunately the new lasted 10 months before the warping started. That along with the clunky 10 speed that's been updated with all the firmware put me back into a Ram as I've never had any issues with my 2010 & 15.
I will add the leather warping on the Limiteds definitely swayed my decision on a nicely equipped Laramie Night Edition. Goodluck with your truck.

That’s crazy with the dash. Is the truck parked outside all the time with extreme heat?

Mine is doing the same thing and I was told I have to pay 2k to fix it. This is should not be happening on a 75k truck!!!

Why does it matter that the truck cost 75K? I wouldn't be ok with it on any truck regardless of the $ amount

Yeah, I won't be buying another Ram anytime soon. Too many customer service issues since Stellantis took control. I love our 2020 Limited and I hope it remains dependable for us. But if it dies I'll probably shop either Chevy or Ford until Stellantis gets their crap together.

Theres videos of tundras rolling off the hauler with bad engines. I think that would be my last choice at this point.
GM's are having engine and transmissions failures at high rates.
Ford is having few issues but not like Toyota and GM, If I were considering a truck now, I'd look at a f150 and have a participating dealer install the FP700 pkg.

That said, I'm glad I decided to take my lumps (for not buying during ram truck month in March 2020) and bought a pre-covid truck in July of 2020 (build date Oct 2019). I've had zero issues in 80K miles (knock on wood) and in reading about all; the post covid truck failures, I will likely keep my 2020 past its 7/unlimited mileage warranty and look for a mechanical breakdown policy.
(BTW, check into that for your home, I just added it through State Farm for $99 a year; it covers all mechanicals built into your home HVAC, ovens, stoves, tankless water heaters etc. with a $500 deductible. My neighbor just spent $10K on a new AC unit, would have cost $500 with this policy)

People laughed when I mentioned post covid truck problems in late 2020, look at us now.

Hate to say it but I'd be leaning towards Ford right now if I was truck shopping. I'm in the F150 forums quite a bit now that I own an older one as well as the Ram, so I'm kind of up to speed with some of the more common complaints they're having with their Fords.

Ford has WAAAAY too many recalls...they are the king of recalls. I've been looking at the Silverado and GMC Sierra...awesome trucks!

No one likes recalls, but at least they're taking care of a problem (even if it's forced LOL). But I'd rather deal with multiple small recalls than deal with engine and transmission failures. Most of my family members are still GM loyalists, and even they are complaining about those failures. Not to say that Ford hasn't had their share of engine and transmission issues. But they seem to have worked out most of those issues people were seeing with the 5.0 and EB engines.
