Just found this forum, perhaps someone here has the info.
Working on 19 Ram New Body Style.
Can anyone confirm or deny if APLHAOBD full version (paid) will actually allow programming of key fobs? I searched here but do not seem to get any info.
Does it need some sort of bypass?
Thanks in advance. Dave

No. Must be programmed by dealer, or a lock smith with proper equipment.

It's actually not working with Jscan yet. A few have tried, but it's not working in the 5tj gens, only the HD trucks

Believe it or not but check with your local Ace Hardware. My local Ace was able to program Toyota and Hyundai replacement remotes after my wife ran over her keys. They were way cheaper than a locksmith or dealer.

They can't do it. They need to be able to pull the code from the RF hub. It is easier with a fob that just unlocks the doors. Ones that use a push button start require more secure programming.

Emphasis on special equipment. My local locksmiths do not have the equipment but the specialist auto locksmith can.

You cannot program a key fob on your own. Only a dealer or a locksmith can do it.
Inaccurate. I program vehicle keys and fobs all the time. With software and a laptop. Just did a 14 ram and 11 ram fob this week. I am asking if there is a confirmation that Alphaobd works on the new body style.

I am right. You can't do it for DT.

He's not inaccurate. It can't be done on a 5th Gen, as you were asking about.

You can program fobs for 4th gen 1500 rams with AlfaOBD.
You can not program fobs for 5th gen 1500 rams, or 2019+ HD rams with AlfaOBD.
This is your confirmation, I am not guessing on this.

I have wondered if it was possible if I had the rolling code? I was going to try on one when I had the chance in the shop. But sense you have confirmed I won't waste my time.

Most cars, you can program your self, as long as you have one key. Ford puts instructions right in their manual. Totally different animal.
