Hey guys,
I recently purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn ORP on 18’s and took it hunting for the first time. Right away I found the front end of the truck to be to low to clear even small obstacles (deactivations, small rocks) and am looking to gain some height.
I have been pouring over the threads in regards to installing Bilsteins B8 5100 to lift the front end of gen5 1500 Bighorns with the “off road package”(ORP). From what I gather from the other threads the maximum lift achievable with the 5100’s on a ORP truck is 2” (setting 5 on the shocks) as the ORP already comes with a factory 1” lift. The rake on the truck is 3” (+/-) so if all goes well it will come out with a 1”(+/-) rake. I’m alright with a slight rake it’s more the ground clearance on the front end I’m interested in. 2” is better then nothing and with some larger tires I should be able to gain some height without a full on lift kit.
Just wondering how smoothly this modification went of others with the same model truck as myself? Also, does this modification effect the factory/extended warranty in any way? What kind of costs did you guys run into at the shop for install and alignment? Was it straight forward or did the shop run into any problems?
Thanks!
