Well I don’t really know when it stopped working. Window was replaced back in February can’t recall if I used the defroster after that. Noticed it wasn’t working recently. Honestly, if the fix isn’t overly complicated I’d rather do it myself.
Hopefully you’re still around the site. My rear defroster stop after window replacement.
Did the repair work for you?
How did you gain access to the connector? Does it require seat removal?
I appreciate any guidance you might have.
Thanks!
I know right?!? And now I wasted my time uploading a part invoice, receipts, shipping info and credit card statement to “show” I paid for it. Only to be emailed be a “care” agent to be told hey where’s your certified dealer repair order. I think they spent more on labor denying it than they...
Just a heads up. If you replace the chmsl yourself. Stellantis will deny you reimbursement under the extended warranty. I didn’t take it to the dealer because it’s 4 screws and a plug. Not worth the hassle.
In hindsight I should have reinstalled the original went to the dealer for a new chmsl...
I’m on window number 3. I noticed the same thing this week. Defroster is no longer working. On another post someone mentioned that the contacts in the corner snap off or get rubbed thin during replacement. I haven’t had time to pull rear seats for a better look.
Hahaha bro. Not sure why you’re hell bent on defending ram.
My “exact” truck is more. Glad yours is cheaper. My build isn’t. Does your truck cool beyond 58 degrees? Has your backseat been soaked multiple times? Did the dealer strip a seat belt bolt when replacing your window for the second...
Guess you got lucky on AC cuz mine is absolutely trash. So much so that passengers in my car mention it. At which point I pretend to turn the knob because it’s already set to max ac.
GM ain’t exactly known for high quality suppliers.
And the price increase is more than inflation which is...
Third water leak in three years. The back glass has been replaced twice and brake light replaced once. Haven’t figured where new leak is coming from maybe the fin?!? Or glass failed again.
Freaking ridiculous waste of time and materials because Ram went cheap in the supplier, materials...
Update:
My dealer conducted a water intrusion test…aka: a hose out back :) and ordered another replacement window.
I will give credit where due. Both my dealer lees summit, Mo Chrysler dodge jeep ram and @RamCares have been extremely responsive to my issue. They replaced the first window a...
That is definitely worth considering. I have an appointment with my dealer next week…see how that goes. I rarely use the rear window.
Does anyone know if fixed windows have similar water issues?
Welp the new rear glass lasted about a year. Now it’s leaking worse than ever.
My used beat to **** 95 Chevy s-10 somehow managed to stay waterproof its entire life.
Pretty frustrating that both of my rear windows lasted less than a year and half.
Good news the DT’s aren’t included….yet. But like the takata air bag recalls I wouldn’t be surprised if the recall expands in the future to include other FCA/Stellantis products.
Another window surround bites the dust. Dealer says they “need” the truck all day to diagnose the problem. Worthless. Ram recalling airbags today due to humidity during manufacturing/install. Makes me wonder about water next to rear airbags.
