Okay, I took delivery last night and things appear to be functioning. Thought I'd share what they found in the write up....summarized below
...took an oil sample and found metal in oil pan and upon removal of the main bearing caps they found the #6 main bearing failure, damaging the crank...
I can't even imagine how I'd go about asking for unlimited bumper to bumper. Got any thoughts? I'm drafting up an email summary to the GM of the dealership currently to summarize things for him. That ought to be a fair start to open up the conversation, rather than striking up that conversation...
Not even sure I'd have a say, as it's covered under warranty. Perhaps another phone call here to the Service Manager with some clarification. Yep, just called him back and he confirmed with his peer in Parts that it was indeed new and they both presume it was dropped during crating, as the...
Cracked block in the new engine. Glad they saw it before they got too far into the installation. Regardless…we’re back to square one and starting all over. 😑
Alright, just got a call from the Service Manager...they're fixing to remove the cab and get underway. They still think they can have it complete by Friday...again, please don't rush. Just do it right. Christ almighty. :cautious:
So...day #73 is the lucky day to get underway. Lovely...good...
Ram interior features is what put my in a Laramie in the first place and what put me in the Laramie rather than the Rebel or Big Horn. Laramie was the sweet spot without going all the way up to Limited $$$$.
No excuses other than Service Advisor incompetence. Again, I never want people fired, I just want folks to do what they say. We’ll see where we’re at tomorrow when the Service Manager promised to call me to confirm if they’ll finish by Friday or not. The date’s not important at this...
Yeah, I tried to be patient, but he kept revising target finish dates, and, after the 5th time, I lost my patience. OG Service Advisor has been relieved of his duties, not that it helps either way, and the Service Manager knows I'll only deal with him going forward. Frustrating however, is that...
I think it's worth asking, I mean all they can say is 'no', right? Service Manager had no idea...all he knew is that one of his loaners had been off the lot for a really long time.
not even sure, despite how much I've loved the truck, that I trust it any longer and that makes me sad...
Potentially getting my truck back after 72 days (current count) at the dealership. With just over 21,000 miles and three days after an oil/filter service and a recall fix, I blew a “lower motor” part (presuming a piston/rod/lifter/etc.). This was Saturday, July 29th, backing out of the garage...
My service guy seemed to think 5.7L eTorque wasn't on backorder and should be a couple weeks. He'll know more once he finishes and submits his paperwork "in a couple days". I sure hope he's right on the timeline, but the fact that he's mentioned "a couple days" for paperwork more than once gets...
Very similar, yes...I'm sorry to say. Faster 'slap' during acceleration and didn't go away as I drove straight to the dealer and it warmed up, so our issues might differ if your tick goes away once warm.
Guy at the service desk asked to hear it, so we went out and restarted things. "Yikes...
I was just told I need a new motor due to bottom-end tick leading them to think it's a blown rod or piston. 21k miles on it so it's under warranty, but I'll likely be selling once resolved. I poured a ton into it post-purchase (tires, tonneau, tints, exhaust, etc) and am super frustrated with...
