It can be added as a screen like the radio. I can't remember how but it is in the screen setup through the steering wheel. All it shows it the applied brake percentage and I think the set gain amount.
Just got mine from the dealer yesterday for the same thing. It seemed like it just appeared one day. I would take it to the dealer as soon as you can. they fixed mine under factory warranty. But took over two weeks to get it fixed.

Yes sir they do and I'm not recommending it but the breaks also get applied on a trailer when you approach a vehicle.
