Just started experiencing this issue. 20k miles. Been happening about 2 weeks.
Only on cold starts, I get a rough idle, goes away after about 10-20 seconds. Never again rest of day. Next morning, repeat. No CEL.
Just started experiencing this. Though it has nothing to do with the transmission for me.
I echo the folks noting cold start on hot days. Under those conditions, I;m now idling rough and almost stalling. Once truck is warm, no issues.
Vacuum leak? Injector? PCM?
If there is a fix for this...
Ok you may have something else going, low refrigerant, not sure.
When I did the clamp and then the eventual valve, I went from 52 to 42. Huge improvement.
If you’re staying at 50 open or closed something is amiss.
Ended up doing my own TSB - the heater core shut off valve. Vent temps in this humidity down from 52 to 42. Huge improvement. It feels like a totally new truck in the summer.
Folks in the "How's your 2021 AC" thread were depressing me. They have the updated HVAC housing that the TSB installs...
Boss Mode MPG's. I'll take it for an old school pushrod V8. I really love the Toyota Tundra which is a truck I almost bought instead of the Ram. It's funny getting more highway range with my 26 gallon tank than a tundra with a 38 gallon.
I also have a pretty good dealer, but my main reason for not proceeding with the TSB is so many folks reporting marginal gains (3-5 degree improvement vs the hack which is 8-10 degrees for most people on the drivers side).
Would you be willing to post pre and post TSB driver and passenger...
What is the size of your trailer? Don't be afraid to operate at the max of the 3.21 for towing (8k lbs range). The 3.21 is very underrated by the manufacturer. You have a gear for gear mechanical advantage over a Toyota Tundra with 4.10's with your 3.21 thanks to the 8 speed. If you're much more...
I'm a bit alarmed that 2 folks who've had the TSB done are reporting temps in the high 40's low 50's still.
I haven't had the TSB. My AC blows ~52. If I pinch shut the heater hose I can get it down to 42. Much better temperature and a ten degree swing.
I would expect folks that have the TSB...
Thinking I'm finally just going to do the hack. I don't trust any of my local dealers to tear apart the dash and put back together correctly. Then there are folks reporting that it's only marginally better after the TSB.
Just ordered all the parts. Will see if I can get away with 70/80% closed...
Agree it sounds like something with the oil, but I don't think it's filter/oil related. This seems like a Hemi specific issue. I've never observed this across all the other vehicles I've owned. It's unusual in how specific the issue is (occurs only on a followup start after a short run). I would...
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Truck will start perfect even after sitting up to a week. You run it a short time (under 20-30 seconds), say to move out of the way of another car in the driveway. Then, when you restart the vehicle later that day, it's loud/rough like it is suddenly oil...
The way it’s running to the corners, this is looking like the 3rd brake light leaking. This happened to me as well and knock on wood the marine grade gasket replacement I did has solved it.
For the headliner stains, lookup a good youtuber fordtechmakuloco - He recommends a Motorcraft foam...
Won't Uconnect5 leave both versions running Uconnect4 in the dust (8.4 and 12)?
Is lemon law an option for the OP or is that limited to drivability items/powertrain issues?
Remember from 2011-2018, the 5.7 was the standard engine offering in the Ram 2500/3500. Those trucks had the 68rFE trans, which had worse towing gearing/final drive ratios than the 8 speed 3.21. Those trucks were rated to tow well over 10,000 lbs, not to mention the truck itself was heavier...
