Ya I was talking about the lower rocker panels and the flares around the fenders...not inside the fenders.
Mine are getting all chipped up by winter road debris and it’s too late for a paint protective film.
I’ve had some weird things happen since I installed mine.
Once at a stop sign I got a bunch of different flashing warnings all over the dash. It happened so quick I couldn’t even keep track of them. They disappeared and the check engine light came on. As I pulled away from the stop sign it was...
The front end of my rear fender flares are trashed after 3,000 miles. The lower rocker panels are getting beat up as well.
They use gravel on the icy roads here. I might LineX them.
My stickered payload is #1442
I have added some sftermarket products which have lowered that number. I plan to get my truck weighed as soon as I’m done with my mods.
LineX plus Backflip cover
Amp Power Steps
Bigger wheels and tires
I’m guessing I’m closer to #1150 remaining payload now.
Just based on what you said:
“(didn’t ever think about one until now) “
It sounds like you have just started looking at trailers. Before you start considering redoing your gears or trading in the truck...
Let me give you a piece of advice. Don’t rush into buying a trailer. There are a lot to...
Congrats!
The Tacoma is pretty worthless for towing anything more then a teardrop or mini imho.
My trailer has similar numbers, #4,500 dry, #7,000 GVWR. And it’s about as big as I want to tow with a half ton. Anything larger and I’d want a diesel truck.
%10 is a general rule of thumb on how you want to set up your weight distrobution hitch. That doesn’t mean tounge weight will actually be %10 of the trailer GVWR.
There is no way to know the actual tounge weight of the trailer withought putting on the scale fully loaded. There are a lot of...
I agree that with close to a 10,000lb trailer you will be happier towing with a 2500.
I just downsized from a 2500/10,000 pound 5th wheel combo (which I will miss).
You also have consider your payload capacity. Check your load sticker on your door frame. Payload doesn’t change by switching...
I have them. Had them installed by the dealership as I wrapped them into the truck deal.
I had them for 2 years in my ‘16 2500.
I really like them, and never had any issues. I like how the truck looks without side rail steps.
My kids and their grandparents love them. Passengers always...
I have the 4ply B rated Ridgegrapplers and they ride great. They don’t feel a whole lot different then stock on the road. Yet they are a bit higher load rates then the stock rubber.
Mine are 305/55/20 with the 2” Mopar lift. They rubbed at full wheel lock a bit so I trimmed the inside corner...
