I went from driving a 2011 1500 for 13 years to a 2023 F-150 Powerboost. No regrets so far. Loved my Ram but it was rusting like crazy even being oiled every year here in Ontario.
That would be a pretty nice find with the topper. You used to be able to find deals on them around here but a business started that buys all of the used ones up and then sells them for next to new prices. Gave up looking for myself.
I’m not sure if it has changed but I did read an article about Ram making LEDs optional due to chip shortage.

It would be interesting to know. It seems on a weekly basis I’m hearing of 5th gen Rams being stolen in the Province of Ontario. I believe police a couple weeks stopped a group of 5 stolen ones. Seems they are stealing fob signals and also cloning keys.

Might be close to nill, but they say it does. Either way it doesn’t matter to me. I use mine to keep cargo contained or dry.
Except they do. That’s why trucks like the HFE offered them straight from the factory.

I’ve gone through several of these with 3 different companies. None of them survived a winter. On my third OPT7 60” when they sent me the warranty replacement I sold it when it arrived and haven’t bothered with anymore.
I’d suggest these as well depending where you live. I’ll be getting them on my next truck. I’ve had the molded mopar ones on my truck and have cracked two rear sets in half backing over snow banks.
Looks like grit got on the rubber door seal and is now rubbing thorough the paint on the door jamb. I have the same on my 4th gen but the seal that goes up the back of the rear door does it.
I’m curious how this holds up over time. I had my brand new 2011 Undercoated and oiled and while the oil has kept most rust at bay, the black undercoating is flaking off revealing it basically trapped moisture behind it and everything is rusty underneath.
I’m not sure if it was just bad luck or what but I never got through a winter with them without some LED’s failing on an opt 7 bar. I went through 3 of them and 2 versions of an off brand that did the same.
