I like having the remote start (via phone app) in the winter. Yes the key fob works if you are close to the truck, and can see if it actually worked. The app is nice because of the validation that the truck actually started. My 1 year trial just ended, however I was not pleased about...
Awesome, thanks. So which model do I want? There are a bunch on Amz. *edit- looks to be all the same model, just which cars the unit is "certified" to work on.
Interesting. I've not heard of this CarPlay2Air device before now. I guess I've been living under a Covid rock or something. Question- quick interwebs search finds LOTS and LOTS of terrible reviews. Are you guys 100% pleased with this device? Any short comings when using it in the Ram? thanks!
Update to the comments above- the pedal monster reverse safety feature DOES NOT work with my 2020. It just says feature disabled. When you run thorugh the setup procedure there is no selection for the 2019-20 Ram 1500. Only the HDs. Bummer. I have mine set pretty mild, only #3 or #4 on the...
It does make the truck feel more responsive in most situations, just not right off the line.
I'm not an expert, but I seriously doubt that is correct above (no offense). The computer/ECU is what controls the throttle body, not the pedal itself. The pedal assembly is just a rheostat resistance...
Update on the pedal monster: One of the behaviors of the "dead pedal or sponge pedal" is when you initially press the gas to get moving from a stop. There is a delay before the engine responds to the throttle....prob a 1/2 second or so. That is what I would like these throttle...
Installed the Banks Pedal Monster. Seems to work well. I had a Sprint Booster in the past, so it works the same as far as increased pedal response. I do like the bluetooth interface/app rather than the wired fob the SB had. The fail-safe feature is the main reason I opted for this one.
Mine works pretty much 100% of the time, but it does take about 30-60 seconds for the truck the respond. What I have learned is that the iPhone app needs to be restarted almost always before attempting to use it. I've gotten into the habit of swiping it away first, then bring it up again, send...
Mine has a rough down-shift also. So have all my other RAM trucks. I think it is just a "feature". You'll have to learn to ignore it.
****more thought on this......my truck only down-shifts roughly in certain situations. It seems the quicker I slow down, the rougher it seems to down-shift...
The movement is pretty subtle compared to other cars that I have had with this option. On a side road going about 25 mph, try swerving fairly hard left to right...you'll see some movement. Slower speeds like in your driveway, turning into your garage...etc.....you won't notice much movement.
