Review/thoughts after one year of ownership.

So I have now had my RAM 1500 Limited for one year, and felt that I have now enough experience with the 5th Gen RAMs to provide some legitimate feedback. I know others have done this as well, but I am hopeful that these types of reviews will serve to educate other future/potential owners. Here...

    2019 ram problems

7 months, now almost 14,000 miles, and no issues. I like the truck more each day that I drive it. I spend a lot of time on the road, so I tested all the other brands out there and got the RAM because of the creature comforts. Averaging over 19 MPG. With gas mileage like that, a 5.7 for...

Watch An All-Electric Ford F-150 Prototype Tow 1.25 Million Pounds:

But aren't they using just a standard vehicle recovery/towing strap rated for 20,000#?

    Hard-wire Dash Cam Install

All credit goes @smcgt, for his extremely well documented post here: https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/hardwire-radar-detector-to-rear-view-mirror.718/post-15901 The only thing I did differently was to run the MirrorTap wire through the mirror stem hole instead of out the bottom.

    Hard-wire Dash Cam Install

I wasn't interested in having my dashcam run 24/7. Only wanted it while driving. Have the Escort M1 dashcam, mounted on a BlendMount support. Used a MirrorTap for power, so the dashcam only operates when the power mirror does (ignition on, ACC on, etc.). Clean and efficient, with no wires...

    12" Good Idea

Once you get beyond the fact that you are in a truck with a full 12" (huge!!) screen, it doesn't take long to realize that what you actually have is two 8.4" screens. If those on this forum with one 8.4" are pleased, just think how happy you would be with two.

Uconnect/sirius guardian - does it actually work?

Mine works perfectly. Only one time has the truck failed to start. Thought it didn't get the signal from UConnect, but turns out there was a message on the truck display when I got in that said "remote start canceled due to low fuel" I had forgotten that I needed fuel when I parked the truck...

Rambox bed divider/extender, officially no longer an extender

So how is a bed extender on a heavy-duty RAM legal, while the 1500 one is not? Photos are from the Motor1 article here: https://www.motor1.com/news/301882/ram-heavy-duty-sport-package/ ,presumably taken at the Boston Auto Show this past weekend.

Introducing the 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duties:

Anybody else feel that not including a RamBox on a dually is a wasted opportunity? Seems like the wider fender areas would be a prime candidate for a larger RamBox configuration. I can imagine that those who require a dually could also make use of a larger/deeper RamBox. Besides, due to the...

    Would you buy it again?

Yes. Replaced my F150. Cannot believe how quiet the cabin is. Ride is smooth as silk, interior finish is like a Bentley. With the 3.92's and the Hemi, I just wave my foot at the gas pedal and the rocks fly. Of course, I can't hear the rocks fly due to the quiet cabin. Ramboxes? How did I...
