Oh, the 12in for me was an easy pass. It looks great, but after playing with it I was not a fan of putting the HVAC controls behind a touch screen menu. Just my own preference, not like a terrible burden. I am just used to being able to instinctively turn a knob without even looking.
Interesting points, especially about the Nav.
It's not that I am a novice to off-roading, rather if I am going to drop that kind of coin on a bunch of other features I don't want, to get to the one I do, just to find out anything past idle speeds it won't work.... I am not looking to do 30mph...
Hello,
I'm in the final steps to order my PW after the July incentives hit.
I am at the point where I'm shaving off all the little doodads that inflate price up.
I'd like to ask for feedback on these 2 options.
Fist the trailer technology group. I'm really just after the front camera here...
I am not trying to tell myself different, I am actually asking owners what $1200 buys me to discern if the investment is worth it. As in, is there anything it offers from the 8.4in I should consider before I say no and write it off as unneeded, Sounds to me full 12in navigation and split screen...
Maybe for 2020 we can get diesel (being AT4 will have this option)..... and a back seat my daughter won't curse me for. 14 year old on a record growth spurt.
Thanks everyone, giving me much to ponder,
FWIW, if the only difference is a larger nav screen, and everything else is split screened, $1200 is a big pill to swallow for a "gee whiz" sized screen. I think I'd rather put that $1200 towards some Ramboxes.
It's literally cheaper to build the truck from thr Lariat packages. Add your own styling, and you could buy an actual HD for the cost of the HD package.
I'm shocked they ranked the Ford XL below the Chevy Work Truck. I used to be a Chevy guy, and I had the displeasure of driving a new fleet one for 2 days. Day 3 was me twisting arms to get an older one.
It literally feels like a flimsy S10 when loaded.
In regards to the cost to upgrade from an 8 4 to a 12in.
Is there features missing on the 8.4 that the 12 has? Does the 12 do something way better then the 8.4?
All I can see in difference is in the 12in, you can split screen apps. Which most the apps do not appear to the use full potential...
Hello all,
I have been contemplating buying a new truck this year, the two from Ram that really scream are a 1500 Laramie Longhorn, or the PW. Leaning Longhorn for all the time comfort. But I do like doing a lot of outdoor stuff, and having a badass off-roader, with 7/10ths that comfort might...
Hey Vulf, I'm out in Oregon and I don't mind going for a drive. Would you mind sharing the dealership you got quotes from?
Speedy, that's kind of the internal debate in having with myself. Yes, a Laramie Longhorn is also tempting... Very. I love that black/saddle color interior.
Being this...
