I just installed my AWE 0FG system. I thought I had an exhaust leak, but discovered it is actually the weep holes in the muffler. Has anyone else had this issue? I can’t imagine they are supposed to make such a noticeable noise. It is easily heard standing next to the truck.
I’ve heard some others say the same. My attempt to solve this problem is I always ask for them to keep the old parts for me. Or in some instances I will actually hangout and watch them from the waiting area. In the case of my manifolds they replaced both at the same time and since the dealership...
I run redline 5w30 as well. I have also experimented running lubeguards Bio/tech. While at one point it all really helped quiet it down this sound has resurfaced. But as for the rest of the valve train noise it has significantly improved those noises. However not this noise coming from down...
My knock is there regardless of temperature. Cold start it is there, after driving for an hour it is still there. It’s actually more noticeable once the truck is fully warmed up because all the usual cold start noises have subsided.
Any update? I have the same sound, most people responding are missing the sound he is actually talking about. Correct me if I am wrong OP, but if you listen there is more of a clunking sound for a lack of better words. I’ve had both manifolds crack and leak and this is an entirely different...
I will give it a shot on my next oil change. It’s coming up soon anyways. Might change it early just for the sake of cutting open a filter before the warranty is up. If that reveals anything I will keep it and bring it with me to other dealership.
That is what I have thought as well. It’s easier to hear in person. Never had a lower end issue in a vehicle in the past so not entirely what it would sound like. But I have 5 co-workers with 5th gens with hemis and none of them have that noise. Assuming I get nowhere with the dealership and...
Correct me if I am wrong, my understanding is that all 2023s have the DASM unit. At least on the Laramie? I am toying with the idea of trading my 2020 for a new 23. But I really would like adaptive cruise and the DASM unit has been the biggest thing holding me back from this project. So if it’s...
The new sound that has showed up I can hear a good 20+ feet away. And all of these are at full operating temperature after driving to and from the dealership 45 minutes one way. The other sound that has been around you can hear from a decent distance but it’s not as obvious.
Well update, seems to me like it is getting worse. So I took it to the dealer today. Tech said he replaces the manifolds all day and it definitely doesn’t sound like the exhaust and that it sounded like some lifter noise. The master tech ended up wanting to see it, so pulled it into his bay and...
I don’t get to do too much highway driving lately. But the times I do get on the highway it’s not bad, 70-80mph. I don’t know if I can say it truly “drones” but you do hear it. It’s got a pretty consistent tone cruising that I don’t find annoying or intrusive in the slightest. I can still relax...
I thought it still had an exhaust leak as well. But we have pressurized the exhaust system while it is cold and searched everywhere for a leak and nothing showed up and just to cover everything we got it hot and checked everywhere again and no leaks can be found. The other thing leading me to...
Factory suspension here on 34” tires. In town I struggle to get 14 mpg under what I consider normal driving conditions. I have been able to get close to 16 when I tried driving as efficiently as possible.
I appreciate the input, this is what I suspected originally. But I will inspect the few things I can to try and rule them out before making a trip to the dealership, they are a pretty decent drive one way. They have always done right by me in the past, but I just want to have my ducks in a row...
I appreciate the response. Hadn’t even thought about the flex plate/torque converter. I forgot to add that I have a tick not sure if it is the same source or not. That is extremely noticeable under acceleration which pushed me to think more of a lifter. But like I said I could have two different...
As the title states I have a “tick.” I thought it was just the exhaust manifolds as they were cracked. While that did fix the obnoxious startup tick, this one has persisted. In any videos I have captured it is hard to hear clearly. But in person it is pretty easy to pickup. Even with my carven...
Sound’s just like me, especially watching the misfires. Curious how many misfires are you seeing and are you seeing them all the time? Or just during certain situations? (Startup, idling, accelerating, etc.)
Does anyone have a link to the update files? The provided google drive link that previously had all the files now says the folder is empty. Specifically needing 39.7
