hmmm...doesn't make sense that you would HAVE it, but not have a switch to control it. How would you be able to go to "entry/exit" mode if you wanted too?
back in my day...(when they sold Preparation A)...we sized up all cars by whether they had dual or single exhaust. Lots of guys had jacked up, orange painted rear diff's, crager magged, street cars...but the minute they passed by and you saw single exhaust, you knew the car was a "fake"...today...
you sure you don't have Cummins in there! wow...that would make me crazy. I agree with the others who said most likely exhaust, once it warms up, metals expand, which quiets it down some by closing gaps..good luck sir.
