2017 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Transmission Running around 120-140 Degrees.

170-185 when I'm driving normally, and not towing. that range gets about 5-10 degrees higher in the summer time with the A/C on.

Are there any high mileage Gen3 Eco's with stock tune on here?

Some of them are Snake Oil, but some of them do provide additional lubricity to the fuel which keeps high pressure fuel pumps and injection pumps happy, and others have detergents/dispersants that help keep your injector nozzles clean. They're all either cheap insurance, or a placebo to keep...

Going to buy a RAM - Need opinions on do I get a 1500 or a 2500 for towing

Another vote for the 2500 here! 6.4 hemi and 3.73 gearing will be plenty for what you're doing. Sure a 1500 could do it a few times a year, but it will be sketchy. a 2500 will do it comfortably and could do it all day, and every day.

You better have your CDL if you’re hauling loads like that!

    P0674 Glow Plug Error

They tested the plug, I assume with a multimeter. They said #4 glow plug is fried. Wiring all checked out and it wasn’t unplugged. Sorry, my wording made it seem like they did nothing besides hit the OBD port, but either way kinda surprised the plug kicked the bucket at only 65k miles.

    P0674 Glow Plug Error

So, dealer plugged in and said it’s a bad glow plug, easy peezy. Scheduled the repair for a few weeks out, in the meantime just driving the truck like normal and using the block heater for the cold nights.

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Precisely, too many small differences between these two trucks. I’d love to see two identical trucks just for S’s and G’s.

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

I guess also something to take into account for that drag race would be tread pattern and tire pressure. I imagine the Rebel at 55 psi on A/T tires and the Laramie at 36 psi on Highway treads wouldn’t hook up the same from a dig. Especially with traction control on. I’m probably overthinking...

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

So upon doing some quick research the 18” Duratracs (54 pounds) are 17 pounds heavier each than the Duelers (37 pounds.) Do those rims make up for that 17 pounds? Both trucks on a dyno, which one would have more power in your experience? Also thanks for the answers, and I appreciate the...

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

So then the larger tires on the smaller 18 inch wheels would be additional unsprung weight, right? Plus the Rebel in the test I assume would be on Goodyear Duratracs? And I suppose the Laramie would be on H/L Bridgestone Duelers, right?

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Isn’t that 100lbs = 10 hp thing only true in light racing cars? Like ~3000 pound vehicles or so?

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

My point exactly, I’m no expert, just poking fun. But I’d bet that tire size makes more difference than the 120 pounds. I’m curious to see what two actual identical (besides gearing of course) trucks would do.

    Glow plug error codes question

Potentially very dumb question incoming. The connectors on the end of the wires that attach to each glow plug, do they just pull straight up and off? Or is there some sort of clip in them?

    P0674 Glow Plug Error

Evening everybody, just rolled 65k miles last week on the Ecodiesel. Truck started a little bit slow this afternoon and the glow plug indicator illuminated followed by a check engine light. Code read P0674, glow plug cylinder 4 circuit open. Anyone ever have this issue before? I imagine it’s...

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

I was under the impression that the wait we've all been experiencing is because they did design some sort of holder in all the newer produced ones to prevent the cups from rotating and destroying their rollers, perhaps I'm mistaken.
