An AirTag just lets you know where it is after it’s been stolen. Probably better to put your energy into preventing the theft instead.

For what it's worth, my truck doesn't shut off either. I open my door all the time at a stoplight with my seatbelt buckled, and nothing happens. Granted, I don't have A/S/S on my truck either.

Or use this as your opportunity to completely replace the rear badge. Before the TRX came along, I had a Rebel on order. My wife bought me a cool badge for the tailgate that I never used. You could do something like this (there are a ton of different options you can buy off the shelf).
