    Diesel Gelling In Cold Weather

Thanks! I just now read it in the Diesel Supplement. I just wish I knew if the thermostat was operational when the vehicle was turned off. • A 12 Volt heater built into the fuel filter housing aids in preventing fuel gelling. It is controlled by a built-in thermostat. • A Diesel Pre-Heat...

    Diesel Gelling In Cold Weather

I was wondering if anyone knows why FCA says fuel additives are not needed in cold weather for the Ecodiesel? Is the fuel filter housing somehow heated? I placed a gallon of diesel from the local truck stop in a clear plastic jug in my freezer at -15 F over the weekend and you could clearly...

    2021 eco diesel gas mileage

Anyone else noticing a drastic decline in MPG with the winter blend of diesel? During the summer I would get nearly 30 MPG highway and I'm now getting 23 MPG highway. I have no way of knowing if my local fuel station is selling me "winter blend" but I'm assuming they are since it's a Marathon...

    Ecodiesel and extreme cold

I had a 2014 Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel and it never needed fuel additive or the block heater when parked outside at -20F. Although the battery died on a -20F night so I plan to change the battery on my new EcoDiesel truck every 3 years whether it needs it or not.

Confirmation of oil filter part number

Here's a copy & paste from supplier IDparts.com "The 2020+ oil filter is not removable from the filter cap requiring the whole assembly to be replaced at each oil change. This is because the oil filter cap has an integrated oil bypass valve." This is the oil & filter I purchased...

Should I get the Diesel out of my head?

I leave mine idling while warming up for 2 or 3 minutes with the garage door closed all the time in my attached garage. It has a slight "sweet smell" that most people wouldn't even notice. I wouldn't say it's a safe thing to do though.... could probably kill ya.

    Any convert from the 5.7?

Yep 900 miles per tank..... keep in mind I have the 33 gallon fuel tank. No reliability issues yet, but I only have 6000 miles on the truck.

    Any convert from the 5.7?

I was referring to the reason I went with the Ecodiesel over the Hemi (both Jeep & Ram).

    Any convert from the 5.7?

Back in 2014 I went from the Hemi Grand Cherokee to the Ecodiesel Grand Cherokee and was happy with the upgrade...... no complaints. I now have the 2020 Ram Ecodiesel and my combined AVE MPG is 27.4 and I get almost 900 miles on each tank of fuel. The reason I went with the Ecodiesel was to...

Conflicting Oil Standards in Owners Manual

Anyone have an opinion on this? I'm thinking about going with the Euro oil option. https://www.idparts.com/oil-change-kit-5th-gen-ram-ecodiesel-68498720aa-p-13647.html

Fumoto Oil Drain Valve For 3.0 Ecodiesel 2020 Model Year

I'm curious who's all installed or plans to install a Fumoto oil drain valve on their 2020 Ecodiesel? More importantly, which exact Fumoto part number did you choose and why?

Conflicting Oil Standards in Owners Manual

FYI, Here's the response I got from RamCares. It looks like I'll be using Penzoil since that's the only brand name they care to mention at this point. Thank you for taking the time to reach out! We recommend 5W-40 Synthetic engine oil such as Mopar or Penzoil Platinum Euro that meets FCA...

Battery Voltage Indicator - falling numbers

Thanks for the info! Hopefully the battery will maintain PLENTY of charge when winter comes around. My Grand Cherokee diesel needed all the battery power it could get when the temperature got down to -20F

Battery Voltage Indicator - falling numbers

I guess I assumed the dealer would have taken care of the recall before giving me the keys, but my dealer only has 1/2 the employees working during the virus situation so I guess I'll give them a break. I'll give it some time before contacting the dealer.... maybe it's normal.

Actuator noise after truck shuts off

My 2020 Ram 1500 Diesel (without air suspension) makes a high pitched noise for 2 minutes or longer after turning off the engine. I have tried to locate the source of the noise without any luck. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way to eliminate it?

Battery Voltage Indicator - falling numbers

I just picked up my 2020 Ram 1500 Diesel on Friday and have only driven 80 miles so far. I noticed the battery voltage only reading 12.9 while driving at highway speed, and increases to 13.8 while decelerating. With the engine not running, the voltage is 12.6. Can anyone explain the increase...
