Did some sound deadening to my doors

They were tricky. The last door I did (rear drivers side) didnt connect. I was over it at that point but panel still holds solid and there isnt a gap.

Did some sound deadening to my doors

Decided to put some CLD tiles on the metal of the doors then some 1.5 lb/sf mass loaded vinyl between the inner plastic and door skin. Sounds much quieter but still hear road noise that Im now certain is coming from the rear vents (this will be the next to be addressed). Took a few hours to...

    Did my own ceramic coating

I think proper maintenance is key. My truck is garage kept and not driven all that often. Hand washing with a ph neutral soap is important. Id be thrilled to get 3 years (let a lone 5). Time will tell.

    Road noise- interior

I spent the day yesterday adding CLD tiles (like dynomat) to the inside metal of my doors, them 1.5 lbs/ft of mass loaded vinyl between the plastic inner door skin and door skin. while this helps immensely, I still hear road noise. going to make a baffle box for the 2 rear vents and see where...

    Did my own ceramic coating

I was actually looking for a white vehicle. Decided on a Limited, but didnt want the chrome. My last ram was black also, and I learned what not to do on it. This ones has only had hand washes by me or a touchless wash.

Thanks for all of the kind words! The weather was nice, and I tried to take my time. It was therapeutic at times, but MAN was my shoulder tired when I was finished!

    Did my own ceramic coating

I decided on a DIY ceramic coating after reading all the reviews since I purchased my truck in October. Took about 15 hours over 3 days to complete. Ive got to say, Ive never owned a vehicle that looked so good! Most of the work was in the prep, and It sucked. When I was finished, my wife...

How to remove back wall carpet (road noise coming from rear cab)?

Having my truck since October, I dont think there was anything wrong with it. It sounded louder (I believe) by comparison 2 my last 2 trucks which had dynomat and mass loaded vinyl in the doors, back wall and carpet. Ill add some to the doors here for an even quieter ride.

    Ceramic coating on glass?

I'd like to use what will be leftover from my Gtechniq CSL. If it interferes with auto high beams, I probably wont put it on the windshield (even though I dont use this feature). Maybe on the rest of the glass?

    Ceramic coating on glass?

Ill be ceramic coating my truck with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light in the next week or 2. I have googled this but not found any definitive answers: can you put ceramic coatings on your windshield/windows? I believe you can, but would like to be certain.

Since there will likely be crystal serum lite and/or EXO left over, would you use it on the exterior glass?

Paint Protection Film - Any DIY Input?

Within the next few weeks Ill be ceramic coating my truck, myself. I noticed that the front bumper already has lots of chips in it with only 5000 miles. That got me thinking that I should at least apply some touch up paint and a PPF before the ceramic coating. Im really only looking to do the...

So I should spray the iron x onto a dirty (unwashed) truck, then wash it off? I'm also thinking about skipping the compound step and only polishing as there are no swirls. Never been in a touch wash. Paint actually looks really good as is, but understand the importance of polish.

    Come along?

We got stuck in a deep snow bank in the mountains yesterday. In lieu of a winch, are there any come alongs that have a good weight rating (for our trucks) that would be recommended ? I dont put myself in situations where I need a winch often, but would like to have a tool to get me out of a...
