I think a lot of it depends on how much you use CarPlay vs built in functions like Ram Navigation
If you use built in Ram navigation, the 12 is a no brainer—you get a massive screen!
But if you use CarPlay, you lose screen real estate vs the 8.4.
I personally am in CarPlay 99% of the time...
Does anyone know the exact dimensions of CarPlay when it is displayed on the top of the 12" screen vs. the 8.4" screen?
For me, the usable CarPlay area is the only thing that matters. On the 8.4" you lose some real estate on the top and bottom of the screen due to built-in Ram menu bars. Anyone...
Hi all,
I tinted my side and back windows, but am wondering if I should also get a strip of tint on the upper part of the windshield (above the “AS1 line” is legal here).
Are you glad you got this area tinted, or did you leave it as-is. Am wondering if it will decrease my visibility.
Example:
In my other vehicles, if I have music playing on CarPlay, and I use the steering wheel button to give Siri a vice command, the music resumes playing right afterward. In my Ram, I have to manually press play again to get the music to restart.
1) Is this normal behavior?
2) Does your screen in...
For those considering ordering, I looked at both the one that ships from China and the one available on Amazon available with 2 day shipping. I didn’t have the patients to wait for the China one, but was worried since the amazon one got so-so reviews.
I’ve had the amazon one for a week or so...
My camera have been working ok, but I have noticed that when I power fold my mirror, they lightly tap on the window in the folded position. On my other vehicle, the mirrors do not touch the side window glass when power folded.
Is it normal for the mirrors to touch the side glass when folded?
Does the Tazer need to be permanently plugged in to get the auto-fold mirrors? Or can I change the setting and then remove it? I really want this feature, but prefer not to leave something plugged in permanently.
Thanks!
Why are people sometimes using regular cruise?
On an empty highway, adaptive cruise acts just like regular cruise.
On a crowded highway, you can’t really use regular cruise since it will disable itself constantly when you use the brake to slow down.
What am I missing?
Love it. Considerably better implementation than others I have used. Feature was first invented over 25 years ago, no reason to not have it on a modern vehicle.
What is disappointing is that there is no lane centering. Vehicles with lane centering pretty much drive themselves (closely supervised).
I do t like the footwell lights either.
At least on my Laramie, there is a rotary dial on the dash to the lower left side of the steering wheel. It looks like 1 dial but it is actually 2. One dims the dash lights. The second dims the footwell lights.
Hi all,
Recently moved to a state that has an actual winter. We don’t get a ton of snow, but I’d guess I need to snow brush my car 10-14 days per year.
Can anyone recommend a good snow brush/snow scraper that fits nicely in the cab?
Thanks!
Hi all,
In my other vehicle, CarPlay takes up the entire screen. You can exit out of it temporarily if you want to change a built in car setting
(A/C, radio, etc.).
in my Ram, CarPlay is shrunken, since the bottom inch or so of the screen permanently displays icons for the “native” features...
Correct, the factory “tint” is just privacy glass, which doesn’t have the UV and infrared blocking quality of aftermarket tint film. But from a darkness perspective, it is like a 20% tint film.
