Have you had the Y81 recall performed? Its a software flash and I believe it also helps address this def level sensing issue. Mine would do this occasionally and after that recall I never had it happen again. DEF usage went up for me slightly but It also solved another issue I was having with my...
Not sure if you would consider this high mileage but I'm at 92k totally stock and never a drop of any fuel additives. I had a hiccup once with the SCR but the DEF recall + some hard driving sorted that out so it didn't cost me anything. I'm happy so far! Plan is to keep it going, maybe after the...
This looks really nice. I don't tow often and as I plan to do the service every 100k miles, I'm not sure i'd spend the money.
How often are you guys doing the trans service? I was planning to it at 100k. I was estimating being $700-$1100 for the trans service. Is that what you guys are seeing?
Has anyone found out what the warranty is if any applies to this new pump? I’m still waiting on mine. They told me they have parts but when I brought the truck in they said they need to order. At that time the advisor had no info on warranty of new pump.
The fact they changed that is concerning. Yes, they need to honor the warranty for those who purchased trucks and their manual states every other but still. Ive actaully done it every 15k miles as I changed oil every 7500. Maybe ill go every 10k now. My truck has 88k and so far so good.
For...
I've looked into this before. They don't list their diesel as "Top Tier" and the only stations that come up are Costco when you filter for top tier diesel fuel. Those stations aren't to close to me unfortunately. Any other brands you know of that run these detergents in their fuel? Would be...
It’s a Mobil with no biofuels in their diesel (they claim). But my cars definitely like it. They start better and get better mpg when we fill up with that diesel. Both my ram and golf tdi.
Like you see above, I'm at 88k and never any additives. The problem does appear random where some see it under 10-20k miles and there are trucks out there with well over 100k no issue. I hate having the dealer do anything with my car but the way this issue arises sucks. There is no warning and...
Has there been any mention of extended warranty on these fuel pumps after they are replaced? I'm at 88k so I'm hoping they offer warranty on it for more than the 100k factory powertrain.
I feel the same way. 88k with no additives ever and no issue but this failure is catastrophic. I travel all over and often with my family and young kids…..a failure like this in some of the remote areas we go with the whole family would just suck. So hopefully their fix is actually good…..
Nice. I found a local dealer that has a PCM in stock ($297!) and ill likely pick it up Friday. Ill have them program it during the recall so I can then send it off for a tune. I see they are also adding a B5 diesel label to the fuel door. The station I always use contains 0 biofuel (at least...
Dropping Mine off on Monday. How do I know they actually put the new updated pump in vs. just new version of what's currently in it? Any visual differences?
Definitely not the best. It really is a shame the costly parts aren’t covered under the 100k warranty. My dealer advised me to call customer care to see if they would cover items like this as they said they have seen customers have success. I had 86k at the time so I wasn’t even close to the...
That's the oil I've been running for the last 2yrs. I now to am getting worried about the fuel pump. I have almost 86k miles, never put a drop of any additive in and today (Friday 13th....) I got a CEL P026C. In my opinion the truck hasn't been 100% for the last 2 months but with no CEL or...
The 5w40 Euro from them doesn’t specify the 12991 spec but it is API -SN. When I put my truck info in it does come up as an available engine oil. I’m about out of my warranty period and the 12991 spec is “recommended” but not required so I would be okay using it myself especially based on some...
Probably not, just another option available locally for a reasonable price. I used a lot of the QuakerState as I bought a ton when it was on sale but based on the oil analysis it doesn't seem to be to great. I have 1 more oil change worth of Quaker State and after that I may move to this Castrol...
Came across castrol edge 5w40 European at Walmart the other day. $28 for a gallon. Looks like it had the certs needed. I didn’t buy any as I just did a change but maybe once I get through my Quakerstate stash I’ll give it a try.
