I'm on stock Goodyears on base 18" rims, which I run at 40 psi cold. Your A/T tires don't help. Neither does the extra weight of the sunroof or the multi-function gate that I don't have, although I do have a bed full of stuff (under the tonneau cover) most of the time. I'm guessing at least...
I agree. I've had my Eco for three years now. It's primarily used for runs between SE PA and NE FL. It often sits in a garage for several months at a time at either end of the trip. ~24,000 mile on it so far. Oil changes every 6000 - 7500 miles. Not a single problem (knock wood).
I...
If you can get PPM from your tool, it should be lower than the upstream; ideally by a factor of about 10:1, with it all warmed up, of course.
Disclaimer: This is not something I've checked on my truck, but is commonly accepted for Euro diesels with SCR systems.
When I was getting ready to order my truck, I test-drove a Hemi with 3.92 gears. It put a big grin on my face. But I don't need a truck to put a grin on my face. I have other vehicles for that. :giggle:
If it really does work that way, it's very misleading. If a "trip display" shows X miles, then average MPGs on that same display should should be calculated over that same distance.
I would be surprised if that was correct. I have normally Trip A showing all the time. I've never seen any kind of "jump" or discontinuity at 500 miles, and I've gone past 500 miles numerous times (easy when you have a 33 gallon tank).
However, I did hit 20,000 miles today and saw Trip B...
I track every fill-up via Fuelly.
Hand-calculated over the last 9927.7 miles, I've put in 364.177 gallons, for an actual average of 27.26 MPG.
This is 90+% highway driving, typically with the bed full of stuff (but covered) and one or two passengers. Cruise set to 10 over the posted...
Look at the bright side. If the HPFP fails, FCA will fix it -- unlike VW, who tried to weasel out of it more often than not.
I've had TDIs since 2009. Two Touaregs and a Passat. No HPFP failures so far. Still have the second Touareg, and it's still rolling invisible coal because I've...
10,806 miles driven since new.
Every fill-up recorded.
409.33 (US) gallons used.
= 26.4 mpg average.
Best tank: 28.85
Worst tank: 24.25
This is ~90% interstate highway driving, cruise set to 10 over the posted limit, so 75-80 MPH. Bed usually full under the cover, and most often two...
OK.. Another brand of vehicles I'm familiar with does have the ability to correct this by tweaking a channel in the Instrument Cluster with a scan tool, and I was hoping FCA might also have a provision for it.
Does anyone know if there's a correction for fuel consumption (MPG) anywhere? Over 3600 miles and 7 fill ups, I've noticed my truck's calculated MPG is off (optimistic) by about 6%. Truck is 100% stock.
I just went out and checked it.
So my truck's estimate is optimistic by about 1.6 MPG, or a bit over 6%.
Average speed, including all idle time, stops at red lights, and low-speed local driving works out to 54.2 MPH.
That's quite surprising to me. Mine (a 3.21) will downshift out of 8th before losing any noticeable speed at all on hills with the cruise on, and that's w/o a trailer! I wonder if there's some difference in the programming between 2020 and 2021, or between the 3.92 and the 3.21, or if it...
Actual measured consumption since my truck was new in early November:
The dash claims it's a bit higher, but I'm too lazy to go check exactly what Trip B (which has never been reset since new) shows.
This is a 2021 Laramie with stock 18" wheels & tires, 3.21 gears. Primarily highway miles...
I don't think any of us 3.21 people would have a complaint at all if we could lock the trans into 8th. The downshifts (especially on cruise control) aren't necessary most of the time.
I wish the + and - buttons on the steering wheel would function more like a proper manual mode. You press...
I have a '21 ED with 3.21. I'm glad I chose it because 3.92 with stock tires would be too busy for my use (mostly highway driving). But if I were planning larger tires (which I'm not), I would have spec'd the 3.92.
I really wish FCA would offer the 3.55 with the ED. At least for...
I know none of you guys actually ran out of fuel, and that's a good thing. Please consider what's likely to happen at the high-pressure pump (that's trying to make 25,000 PSI of fuel pressure!) if you let it run it dry. That's not a pretty picture for the pump, or any of the injection...
