@Bighorned, since you have the Alpine system, the speakers are different than the base system. There is too much info floating around and it's very confusing to find the right speaker for the right system (stock, Alpine and H&K) because they ALL use different components.

That's a great write up, thank you. I've been so busy at work (Pool Construction) that I haven't even thought about doing the swap yet. But I will this "off season" for sure. I'm still debating the bass blockers, but I'll have to dig back into everyone's opinions before I order everything up.

I'd be perfectly happy to "manage" a thread about adding anything to the base 6 speaker system. What I mean by that, is that I'll try and keep the info from other systems out of the thread. If we can manage to do that, it shouldn't get as mangled and confusing as the BIG thread we all ran from!

I really like not having to dig through pages and pages to find info............already. If the REF speakers are 3 ohm, with the stocks being 8 ohm, what does that really do to the performance (thus sound quality) of the system? Obviously there are plenty of people who have them in already, but...

Did you use the REF-3032cfx for the dash? That shows as 3 ohm speakers and that's one of my concerns is making sure I don't "lose" sound due to wrong resistance. Thanks.

I literally spent over an hour trying to find this answer, so please don't come at me for not searching! I have BASE stereo (6 speakers) and want to do a simple speaker swap. The other threads out there got SOOO much input that finding this answer has become about impossible, too many people...

Honestly, I clamped it down until I assumed it was 90% or so closed in the beginning. I was trying to just lower temps, but still have heat if I needed. It didn't move my temps at all............so I just clamped it down as far as my 3 fingers could and that's when the temps dropped.

Finally broke down yesterday and got the Harbor Freight clamps. I had a trip where there was a HF in the middle. Brand new thermometer, same exact fan speed (middle) and AC setting (Max). Trip out, 85 outside and 58 coming out vent. Got the clamp installed, trip back was 94 outside and 42 coming...
