Remote start not working. 2022 ram 1500 bighorn

Hello. My remote start does not work even though on Alfaobd and Jscan it shows that remote start is active. When I double click the button on the remote it honks once and that’s it. I’m not sure what it is, I’ve checked multiple forums and videos online but nothing has worked. I have a feeling it might be the key fob but it’s the one that came with the car so I’m not really sure. Please help

Thread 'Successfully Enabled OEM Remote Start'

With the help of @Jimmy07, we successfully enabled the factory remote start on my dads 2023 Big Horn that did not come factory with it. Of course the dealership swore up and down the truck was not capable of having remote start since it did not come from the factory with it. They are truly clueless. Below are the few steps / things needed to enable yours if you don't have it.

1 - AlfaOBD settings you need to change:

Vehconfig 1: Remote Start Present- YES

CustSetMenu 1: Sound Horn with Remote Start CSM Present- YES

2 - Confirm your truck does have the hood latch connector that...

Assume you know about the various vehicle parameters that can inhibit it. Also this is in the owners manual:

The following messages will display in the instrument cluster display if the vehicle fails to remote start or exits remote start prematurely:
•Remote Start Cancelled — Door Open
•Remote Start Cancelled — Hood Open
•Remote Start Cancelled — Fuel Low
•Remote Start Cancelled — System Fault
•Remote Start Disabled — Start Vehicle to Reset
 
I called my local dealer and they said remote start is on my truck. I’ll see if those messages come up on my dash. Thank you

I have not seen that thread but I have done those steps
 
Yes, there are posts on here how to add it afterwards. That link above might help, otherwise search add remote start. You can always go aftermarket with Viper Smart Start using your phone, but costs yearly. Used to be cheap, not sure now.

Thread 'Remote start... what's required to add on?'

My 19 ram DT doesn't have remote start for some reason. Was looking to add it, but wasn't sure what all is involved.

Obviously I would need a new key fob that's programmed to the truck... but what else?

Is everything else installed on the ram that's needed? Reflash the pcm maybe to get it?

Can the tazer do this if I get the new fobs?

Thread 'Adding OEM Remote Start - Is the Kit Really Needed??'

Upon research and searching, from what I gathered is the HD Rams don’t need anything new aside from a new key fob and programming when it comes to adding remote start as long as the hood latch with the connector is there. For us 1500 DT guys is that the same?

I have the hood latch with connector already installed on my Rebel and have a fob with the 5 buttons programmed to my truck. Do I really need the RF module and antenna that comes in the OEM DT kit? If so, does anyone know the part number for the module and antenna and cables separately? I find it crazy that I have to buy this whole...

did you buy your truck new or used?
