What did you do to your Ram today???

Pulled the trigger on som Katzkin leather seats to replace my factory cloth. I traded my 2019 Laramie for a newer big horn night edition in red. This is a pic from when I picked it up from the upholstery shop. My daughter obviously had to get her attention fill in it. The last few days it’s baked in the sun and all the creases and loose sections are completely tight now, which the shop told me it would. Very happy with the way they turned out! $2200 which included install for my set up. It’s less if you opt for the standard inserts. I went with diamond inserts and retained the factory heated seats. It’s an additional $750 per seat (as of now) if you want the AC option but disables your factory controls.

If anyone else is curious or thinking about going this route, I’d recommend calling a nearby authorized Katzkin installer before ordering from Katzkin if you have one near you. The shop told me they have samples of all options. Also, if I’d ordered thru them, the price would’ve been less and all warranty claims would be done thru them as well, vs dealing with Katzkin customer care. Which isn’t bad but local would be easier. Overall, very simple process when ordering direct from Katzkin and would definitely recommend!View attachment 201684
Seats look incredible! I sure don't know about the red but if you like it that's all that matters. 🤪
Did you price, used seats? I'm sure you wouldn't get anything that nice though.

PacBrake oil relocation kit and KSP 1.5" wheel spacers.

Got the pacbrake because I was tired of getting rained on every oil change and having to pressure wash the undercarriage after every job. And no, the "ziplock method" doesn't work.

I went with the KSP's because the 275/50/22's I got have just a kiss of rubbing at full lock and my OCD didn't like that. Oh and also it looks cool. Maybe next round of tires I've bought myself room for some 285/50 or 55's. We'll see.

I was still getting an oil shower with the pacbrake kit but poking a hole in the filter and letting it drain stopped that. It happened once the last thread was off and all the oil in the lines came rushing out. Im not sure if anyone else has that issue.

I use an oil udder. Amazon has them. Pop it up there right under the filter and it has a tube to drain straight into the pan. I just turn from the top of the filter through the front. No mess. No plastic bags. Pull the whole thing out with the filter inside it. Clean the oil udder and store it for next time.
I bought an udder a while back after that first ugly oil change. Wow that was messy! I do like the Pacbrake oil relocation kit, but for that price? Geesh!
Oil change coming soon and I’ll give the udder a try

Appreciate reading these posts. Changing the oil on my lady's Ford Ranger requires steering hard left for clearance and pulling part of the fender liner, the factory engineers were kind enough to install a trough to route spilled oil filter oil to a pan.

I'm coming up on my first oil change on my Ram in the next couple months. I do have a few extra cans of non-chroinated Brake Kleen spray for any mess.

Why would you have to pressure wash it every time? A rag and a little brake cleaner is quicker and far more effective

I've heard of these kits before and even tested something that replaced a Tacoma filter with a standard oil filter (they used a plastic housing and the filter was inside) and I'll never mess with that crap again. The filter location on the RAM is terrible, but for the price of a relocation and random reports of pressure changes, I just wouldn't bother. It takes no more effort with the oil udder. I thought it would be a POS but it's been surprisingly fine. INB4 someone flames me for having an opinion different than their justification of spending $300 to relocate a filter.

No I didn’t really look into getting used ones. I wanted something more tailored to my liking and taste. The red in my photos makes it look more vibrant than it really is. I chose the red inserts because it matched the trucks aesthetics and the shade of red it is, is more like the red you’d find in the rebel. I saw some trucks with full red leather and I didn’t really care for that too much.

Iron and fallout remover applied and agitated with a teflon scrubber all over the truck.

Holy crap what a difference. Even on the windshields. Now it's ready for it's first real warm weather detail. I likely won't ceramic coat but I might for the glass at the very least then just normal quick protective coatings for the paint.

Also today I'm doing the transfer case fluid and my vacuum brake bleed system should be here mid week.

Does the Teflon scrubber help with imbedded stuff you would normally clay bar?

Drove for the first time in a parking garage that had 6'6" clearance. Didn't think about it until I was already in. Scared the crap out of me. Fractions of an inch to spare.

Took the driveshaft out and greased it up again; the notorious bump when stopping came back after about 40k miles since last time. 30 minutes in and out, done.

Grease pretty much worn away and the rear of the shaft looked dry

I did notice some wear marks that weren't there previously, I applied extra grease towards the rear of the shaft

Tried to extend my sirus radio subscription
Got a doooooch bag hardly speaking english in voodoo land.
Not in the USA so I said Intercourse the whole sirus thing.
interesting because when i called years ago the guy had perfect english lol
just do it on the website while on company time. tell them you want the lowest possible rate because you don't use it enough.
that's how i extended mine annually at like $50 for 12 months since 2017.

just tell them you have a price in your head and if they can't match it or get close to it then you will just stick with Spotify.

Even a buck a month is not a low enough price. I'll listen to the radio or all the music I have on my phone.

My lady does let it lapse until it is a buck a month. After several cycles, she is now getting repeats of the comedy channels. she may drop it at some point. We also have a lot of canyons and forests, so service drops out which is a separate annoyance. The radio and our phones do not have this problem.
