Sun Visor broken

SORRY ... but both my 2022 RAM 1500 Laramie visors broke so not fixed yet. Still under warranty plus bought extended warranty ... but guess what the dealer said the truck manufacturer told them not to replace any faulty visors (and my never used passenger leather seat cover which became detached on front). RAM reps said anything that breaks is the fault of the customer. Wow. In addition my 2022 (bought in 2023) has already lost half its value at 26K miles (from $68,000 to $32,000).
I guess ****ty design is the fault of the customer too. Thats total BS. All the dealers know the visors break because plastic isn't metal and the plastic gets stressed in heat and cold and breaks.

Pretty much pick how much you want to spend and what you want to look at, sad...

Does @RamCares do anything about this? I have a 8 year 125k bumper to bumper warranty on my 19, and the dealer told me it wasn't covered and wanted 225 bucks to fix the passenger side. My wife rides in my truck maybe 10 times a year. Driver side isn't broken. But her side is.

One of those things that makes you go, huummm. Why the passenger side? Is it parked in the sun more?

Right. You would imagine the driver side would be the side to break it it was truly fault of the owner/human.

Really depends. I think I've folded my visor down maybe three times the entire time I've owned my 2020. If his wife uses it every time she got in the truck, it could have gotten more use then the drivers side, big he doesn't use it often. Also could be the way she pulls on it to flip it down, or move it to side window.

Dark tinted windows work better than the sun visors.

I ended up using this kit to hold mine up.

All,
This is the exact design that I purchased from Amazon but that link does not work.
But the one above is the exact same item except the vendor/brand.
So read my directions way above on the new screws needed to get a good solid fitment.
I have had my parts for many months and they are functional and are doing the job for which I bought them - prevent breaking.

Based on Insanity's post they function even if the shade is broken. I recommend buying a set as a preventive and or repair.
Note I do not have any connection to Amazon or the company(ies), just a consumer.

I will say that if they are down and out of the clip they can wander around if you corner hard.

The first time I unclipped my sun visor to swing it to the door window to block the sun it cracked. I haven't done that since. I've had the truck 5 years now. I use the sun visor once in a while but I won't swing it to the side window. If it breaks further Ill buy the kit on Amazon but its been like this for at least 4 years now. I wasn't gonna waste a trip to the dealer and when I did go I forgot about it.

I saw some bad reviews about the Amazon clips so I drew up my own. If anyone here has a 3D printer, feel free to grab this and try it out. There's a passenger and a driver side; the two parts are symmetrical of each other. Open the little flap, remove the original screws (T-20), place the printed bracket and screw back on with the original screws.
I just installed mine; it works; we'll see how it holds.
(this is my first time sharing a Fusion360 drawing. If you have trouble using it, let me know)
Is this no longer available for download? I can open it in the fusion 360 browser version but I'm unable to download to insert in the application. I really don't want to buy the amazon version if I can print it myself. If you can help, that would be greatly appreciated!

Those amazon clips don't fix my problem. The visor arm itself on mine broke, the little ball at the end cracked in half and it fell out, and I don't see a replacement unless I'm searching for the wrong terms...which I'm sure I am.

Based on your problem statement, you need a whole new visor assembly or one used from a truck of a similar color. The Amazon part I purchased, and most others the bracket that holds the pivot in place fails, not the actual pivot/arm failure. A donor part should not be hard to remove. Be aware that if you have the door opener and or the visor lights, there will be an electrical connector that will need to be carefully removed and reinstalled. The door opener may also need to be reprogrammed. I'm not sure where the settings are stored; if in the button assembly, then programming may complicate the install functionality portion.

Yep, I need the whole visor, not the clip. No light or door opener on mine, but it's still 75 bucks on ebay.
