On a personal note, I'm just glad I'm old enough, that the possibility of me never needing another truck is a possibility. IF I do need another truck it will be a 2500 with a CTD, if they even exist in five years. The auto industry let the Fox in the hen house in the 80's with CAFE standards, now the EPA controls the industry. I had to deal with the DPF and DEF when buying new CTD's that actually cut the MPG causing more consumption of Diesel, not less, go figure.

Why do you always have to bash someone for their "level of understanding"? It's a common theme from you. This is a community of sharing information and experiences and you have a consistent MO of degrading other members. It is not welcome. You simply cannot engage in a discussion without bashing another member. Doesn't shed a good light on this forum. You should consider your responses before you post them.
I second that. Most of us are here to learn or to share our experiences. I listen because I know, I don't know everything. Even the smartest, most experienced people here, can learn. If you listen.

I don't care if it hurts your feelings or not. That's not why I'm making this post. I'm just simply pointing out the obvious. When you post degrading comments like that, it negates your opinions and is insulting to the other members. That's not the kind of experience anyone wants here. People want intelligent discussion and exchange of opinions and ideas, not to be ridiculed. You would get more respect if you "lightened up a little, Francis". ;)
Pointingniut the obvious is not degrading. He obviously doesn't understand the engine he is calling complicated. Meaning it's above his abilities if he thinks it's complicated. There's really no other way to put it. I've tried to explain how the systems the Hemi uses to try and improve emissions and fuel economy add more complexity than the Hurricane, but he still feels the Hemi is less complex.

$15K average price for an older model 4 Cyl, 2012-2014, any make (Toyota has the best price over all on average) and your going to waist your money to rebuild that 4 Cyl. Lets not forget all the other mechanical issues that can fail because of age.

Its OK, I've found you need a thick skin here, when posting opinions that don't align with the flavor of cool aid FCA is pouring into a half empty glass.

;)
You should just give up on arguing about the complexity of, or cost to maintain/repair modern engines. You are obviously out of the game, and out of your league discussing them. You admitted yourself the last time you tore down an engine was the 70s. Yes, engines were less complicated back then. But the Hemi definitely isnt a 70s engine.

I've tried explaining why RVTRKN opinion about complexity of the engines is wrong. He is stuck in his mindset. If you are listening, then you would see that. I'm done trying to argue with him now. His knowledge of 70's era engine design knowledge obviously trumps my knowledge of more modern engines.

I feel like we sort of have the best of both worlds right now. If the Hurricane isn’t for you, go ahead and pickup a new 24 and purchase a Mopar Maxcare warranty for the next 8 years. You’ve got your Hemi and a factory-backed warranty. In the meantime, I’ll be one of the HO Hurricane testers while I’m cruising in my RHO. There are options for all of us. Worst case for me, if I hate my RHO, I’ll sell it and go with something else. I personally loved the Hemi in my 2019 and 2021 Rams. I even like the Hemi in my wife’s Jeep GC. I think I’ll welcome the 540 horses in the Hurricane though. To each his own😂

I bet you're fun at parties. I wish this forum had a mute button. I'd smash it like a screen door in a hurricane. Pun intended...

The only thing simpler than the Hemi vrs the hurricane are the short blocks. When you add the 2 turbos, 2 cooling systems, DOHC, combustion sensors within the combustion chamber and the electronics controlling all the sensors, you’re telling me the Hemi is more complicated? The MDS on the Hemi is an ingenious design using simple electric/ hydraulics operation, FWIW, if I need to go into the heads for any reason that will be eliminated.

Better at parties than the Karen complaining about everyone else.

Ok, you've repeatedly said it, so don't buy a 2025 1500. No one's asked why not to buy a hurricane equipped truck, why do you persist being negative towards it muddying this thread?

I agree. If you're interested in the 25 or later with a hurricane, this threads for you. If you're not, why are you here?

My trx 6.2 hellcat is more complicated than a 5.7 hemi and worth every "extra" part.
If you want to se complicated... look at variable duration cams. It's one of the coolest complicated parts Ive ever seen. I'd be first in line for a Hemi with this genius design. It would cure the emmisions thing, add fuel economy and give more power.

This has been repeated multiple times too. Its odd how a select group keeps coming back in here to scream as loud as they can that they're not buying it.
And then to feel like they have to make up reasons as to why they will not buy it.

The narcissists on this forum pushed me away once before. Even if you just post comments to try and help others avoid the headaches you've experienced. There's always a keyboard warrior that wants to bash or one up you.

This is the only social media I even belong to. I don't need validation to stoke my ego. Being humble is a rare commodity these days.
