One of the things I noticed about the pacbrake kit vs the other engine block adaptors, is the pacbrake kit uses the hose and 90* fitting to lock the center nut in place. Its basically impossible for the center nut to come loose with the kit installed. On the other kits the center nut is not captured.
For the general good of the group, do you have links or leads to other makers who may have done things differently?

And conversely, it's also impossible to tighten it. That could be viewed as a problem. I guess it makes machining simpler for center and puck, but I think I'd rather have both hose ports on the puck.
You just have to loosen the jam nut on the fitting to tighten the center nut.

Those looked like tapered pipe thread in the pictures. Unless that is incorrect, how does it have a jam nut, and wouldn't that be loosening it which might make it leak?

I have one, but haven't installed it yet. I'm assuming they are like the hydraulic fittings on my John Deere tractor. They are special hydraulic fitting threads, not standard pipe thread. I have replaced those.

Okay, I found a better photo and can see the o-rings. So yeah, those could work. Still think I'd prefer ports independent from mounting, probably cost more. 🤷‍♂️

Thinking again about the design of the pacbrake, it has to flow better than the competitor design with in and out ports independent of the center nut. The pacbrake is really close to emulating the filter without the blocks in the way.

Hydraulic lines have a tapered side and an O ring jam nut. Loosen jam nut, tighten center nut, retighten jam nut. I use loctite hydraulic locker and have no leakage issues.

For anyone considering the PacBrake oil filter relocation kit. Just got this info from PacBrake for my 2024 Ram

The kit# you need is HP10363 2019 + Or HP10362 Ram classic 2019-2023 ram classic

We still have a few of these kits available and then they will be superseded to
HP10596 2019+ Ram 1500
HP10595 2019-2023 Ram 1500 Classic

So sounds like they are about to launch a new versions.
Thought I would share.

Just installed mine yesterday on my 24. I believe it was the 363. Not terrible to do, except the 39mm socket I had was deep well, and wouldn't fit, so I had to use a crescent wrench. Other than that big center nut, I used all regular wrenches.

Just installed mine on my 2023 Limited. Part # HP10363. No problems. Curious about the new part # (HP10596) - wonder what changed?.
What are y'all doing about where the oil pan drain splashes on the sway bar? I fashioned a piece of flashing and stuck that under the drain and it worked ok.

Why not just have your oil changed for you? My local ram dealer has a drive through oil change bay. No appointment necessary and they use OEM filtered and Pennzoil oil.
Because they make the mess we are trying to avoid and DONT clean it up. Imagine oil dripping all over your garage floor, then having to jack up and clean yourself after the wind has blown it everywhere. They did this to me several times, even after i yelled at them :)

Here is the valvomax im using, it gets the job done. I have ran a fumoto before and think I like its ease of use more than the valvomax. Guess one of the good things with a valvomax is its failure mode is closed. The one thing to not like is the added dongle to drain your oil cleanly. You can force the valve open if you lose it, or take it out like a regular drain plug.

Just finished my first oil change with the pac brake. Worth every penny. Did not spill a drop and the filter swap was drama free. The hemi is happy with extra oil and the bigger filters. Noticed the oil temps a bit lower too especially in winter conditions.

I found the leak coming from the top o-ring, on the part that mounts to where the OEM filter would go. The o-rings that came with the pacbrake kit are -217 and -230 Buna-n, with a shore rating of 70.
I ordered replacement ones made of Viton and 75 shore rating (slightly stiffer/harder). The only thing I suspect is that the Buna-n failed due to the temperature, which is probably only rated at -40-225F. The Viton is rated for -15-400F.. I live in south florida and my oil temp is usually always hovering around 220 after being warmed up.. Let's see how it goes this weekend when I swap them out.

I got under the truck today and removed the kit.. I forgot how uncomfortable it is in there.

When I took the mount off, the original o-rings were flat and very stiff (crystalized). I replaced them with the viton ones from Amazon and hopefully it won't leak for the life of the truck anymore.

With how stiff and flat the old o-rings were I'm surprised it wasn't leaking more.

So I contacted Pacbrake about the "new" part number that another member earlier said was being superseded to and asked what the difference was as well as lead time. This is the response I got back and I'm wondering if the new "updated" seal from the new part number will prevent future problems like the one you experienced.

Hello,
We had a seal change do to supplier. The HP10596 should be ready first week of March

I'm looking at getting this kit and your post came up as about the only negative I could find. Hopefully this is fixed now from Pacbrake.

I spoke with Jim Foster also, about three days ago, and he stated the same timeframe as to you for the new HP10596 kit. He thought a "nut" was being changed, but Eric called me yesterday and stated that the "seals" are being changed to a "poly"-blah-blah-blah. When I said, "so Viton", he said sounds right(??).

I'm do for my first oil change in about 3-4weeks tops, so hoping the new kit arrives asap.

My Fumoto drain valve arrives this Saturday. 🤗

PS...I did put the Amazon 217 & 230 O-ring kits on my Wish List just in case.
