So sad. “Parts cannon” operators disguised as technicians.
There’s zero incentive for them to resolve the underlying issue. They clearly don’t know why the problem exists and what causes the failure.
I had a similar experience under warranty with my driveline “bump stop”. It’s a driveshaft...
Reading on the DS platform forum, they have had some success purging and recharging the system, some using UV dye to check for leaks(smart). Their system, and I would imagine ours, will pull atmospheric gas to makeup for lost nitrogen. The problem is the moisture that introduces….

Right. If a sealed system is regularly venting to atmosphere and not being recharged, at some point we will run low on the charge.
I too was worried about an inopportune suspension fault, like this summer when I was towing a travel trailer.
What I haven’t found is a PRV.
Worst case, it would...

I replaced the oem leather on my 2007 ram 2500 with a kit from Redline Goods when the color topcoat started wearing thin. What an amazing upgrade.
The quality impressed me so much that I bought a leather shift boot and e-brake handle cover for my...
I’ve never had issues with my air suspension but in the last few thousand miles( now around 76k) mine has pumped and hissed a few times. I removed the cover at the valve manifold and snugged the outlet lines. No bubbles with a soap test but haven’t had any issues since.
The pump/manifold seemed...
When I bought my truck, it was in the showroom with the battery disconnected. I didn’t realize until a few hundred miles that the dealer didn’t tighten the cable to the battery post.
My point is to check the basics, sometimes problems aren’t as complex as they first appear.
Thank you for posting this as it looks like a promising improvement over the original design flaws. I can relate to one of the reviewers of that product. I really don’t want to have to replace my manifolds again but I think this will be my next choice.
Unfortunately I don’t think the design of the splines and the driveshaft tube on our trucks are the right fit for a zerk fitting. I’m going off memory here so anyone can feel free to correct me, but the wall thickness is relatively thin(it’s not a solid shaft end piece that is milled with...
You have to remove burrs that were cause by galling due to the lack of grease from the factory. After you make the repair and apply appropriate lubrication, I would recommend that the drive shaft is at some point inspected and that more grease is applied depending on your situation/use. Hence...
That’s interesting. These aren’t like head studs or something torqued super hard that stretches. I may replace my hardware next time but I haven’t had any failures yet.
