I am thinking about moving to State Farm or other insurance sometimes later. But after some research it seems to me that many insurance companies have the similar issue like this.
Not yet. I asked the tech at the dealership if they can directly carve the vin number but they said they cannot do that. I am going to get a shield installed later. I know that shield can also be cut out within minutes but hope at least it can deter the thief.
Finally get my truck back today with OEM catalytic converter installed, after a long battle with Caliber, Progressive and Dealership. The dealership and insurance finally get the estimate difference settled and I don't need to pay for the difference. It has been almost one month. I am very...
Right. The progressive manager kept telling me it is just bolt on repair and he does not understand why welding is required. Anyway they are going to grant me with one extra hour that will belong to other item, but should cover the wiring repair. I might still need to pay the difference but...
Actually no. The adjustor said they have the photo taken at the area of damage and they still don't think there is need for wiring soldering. The manager of the adjustor promised to give me one more hour on the estimate, but under different item (not for wiring).

Dealership side: the service manager admitted the previous 6.5 hours is a little bit over-estimated because of its "unique wiring damage issue", and they looked at it today again and think it is actually not as bad as what they...
Thanks. Since I didn't get a chance to see the damage, I am not sure how the wires have been cut by the thieves. But I am sure that the dealership did employ sloths to save money :)
I just could not make that body shop pay using their own insurance. I tried it but the best we could reach is to let them pay the deductible. And also even if they agree to repair using their insurance, I am pretty sure that they will go for the aftermarket one bc the cost difference is huge...
I don’t know actually. They just keep saying according to “Pro Demand” (no idea what is that), it request 6.5 hours. Funny that I asked another service advisor that I knew previously, he said he just get two trucks repaired for stolen cat converter and the labor time is 3 hours below. But since...
Latest update: I am extremely frustrated with the service advisor based on what happened this evening. I called him all day (like 30 times) but no answer, and guess what, around 5pm he sent an email to Progressive adjustor (cc the service manager and myself), and telling him that 2 hours labor...
