Sell those 22s on ebay and upgrade to 18" wheels and a decent set of AT tires. Way more sidewall on 18s, better protection and much more comfortable ride off road. 22s are for city slickers.
Picked up a set of Rebel wheel take offs on ebay awhile ago for $500. Stock Falken tires with 22K miles on them aren't going to cut it for this coming winter, so mounted up my new tires and wheels.
Feels good to get rid of the Bighorn wheels, by far my least favorite part of the truck.
While I agree with a lot of other posts that the temp reading takes a long time after being parked in the sun to cool down to actual ambient temp, I'm convinced there are other problems.
I leave for work at 5am (read, parked in my garage overnight, not in the sun), when I get to work after 20...
Thats awesome! Let us know if you find any deals on tires. I've been looking for the last month or so, tire prices are going nuts right now. I'm looking at sizing up to 265/70-18 (which is a 32.6" tire compared to stock 275/65-18 which is 32.1") Also, the OE Falken Wildpeaks weigh 49 lbs...
275/65-18 is actually a 32.1" diameter tire. Bumping up to 275/70-18 gets you to 33.2". I currently have a 2" leveling kit with the stock 275/65-18 Falken Wildpeaks. I don't think it looks bad at all.
I just purchased a set of 18" Rebel wheels on ebay for dirt cheap, and plan to size up to...
Alright, 3/3 on NO. Guess that's a consensus. Currently have the oem Bighorn 18" wheels with the Falkens. Might look for some 18" take off rebel wheels and slightly bigger rubber. Thanks for all the input.
In the process of shopping for new wheels, and thinking I might want to downsize to 17". I spend enough time on rough forest service roads all summer I would appreciate the extra tire sidewall.
Question is, do 17" wheels fit around the brake calipers/rotors on our trucks?
I remember twice last winter, without my elocker I would've been calling a buddy with a tow strap. It's amazing how much better traction you get when both rear wheels actually turn when stuck in a snow bank.
Exact same bars I have. Mine are a year old, and starting to show a little bit of rust, but not bad. Had Westin bars on my old Silverado and they were almost rusted out after two years.
Also, I think we have the same cat too.
Coming up on the Ram's first birthday and almost 17,000 miles already. Daily driver for work, grocery getting, hauling kids, ski trips, snowmobiles, and a few camping trips in the bed.
I took my wife's 2017 Durango in to get snow tires off a few weeks ago. Dealer calls me and says that the service tech checked the engine and cabin air filters and were dirty, he recommended replacing them both.
I literally changed them both about a month previously and wrote the date and...
Hauled my snowmobiles to summer storage after one final ride in the sun yesterday afternoon. Gave the Wildpeaks and 4x4 a good test driving through 2" of May snow slush on unplowed roads this morning. Sketchy!
