I do the same thing. In my case, it works when moving at any speed (2019 Longhorn 5th gen). I believe You are correct on the "no mileage difference".

There may be more than one issue here. But, I too have a hum/vibration on occasion. When it happens, it's at low speed, always in 2WD, and usually just coasting down in speed - around 30-20 mph. I'm a "car guy" - meaning I know how most everything works, and I get the feeling it has something...
