    Towing capacity confusion???

The charts are not for a specific truck. The only thing you need from the chart is GCWR! Gross Combined Weight Rating! Do you have 3.21 or 3.92 gears? 3.21. GCWR is 13900 3.92. GCWR is 17000 All the other information is on your door jamb. GVWR and Payload. So you look at your door Jamb...

So you want to tow a camper!

Over the years I have tried to make updates to the numbers. If I missed any let me know. These numbers will all be changing now that the Hemi is gone. I think there are already some threads about that. I will update as the trucks roll out, if I remember.

    Does this work?

He wants a ballpark figure of what his truck is capable of The math I showed is not guessing. It is fact and with hundreds of people following it over the past many years...it is accurate to pounds, so much as nothing is in the truck. That said, you are correct if he has stuff he forgot...

This is wrong and why he said dry weight.

    Does this work?

Come on. What he meant was base weight. Not dry weight or curb weight. Neither have a dog in this fight...🤔

    Does this work?

Base weight is a truck empty of cargo and passengers. With full fluids to include fuel. You need not worry about the weight of fuel. If weighing the truck, you need to have a full tank to get the proper base weight and make your payload door sticker number work. Effectively, as you tow you...

    Does this work?

GCWR is Gross Combined Weight rating. This is what your truck, your stuff, your hitch and your trailer can weigh. That is what you are missing. GVWR, as exclaimed is your trucks maximum weight. They are mutually exclusive. Meaning. If your truck is at GVWR you can tow nothing. If your...

    It does, they do

    Missing MDS

All 6.4l Hemi BGE engines have MDS. If you would just happen to have a 2018 or older 5.7l Hemi ...it does not. But, you say 2023, so 6.4 and MDS.

    Umm, heads up

Really cool thing. The option guide they put out each year. We dealt with this so many times over the years Tow hitch, tow mirrors, heck some guys didn't even know what bed sizes were available. Get home, won't fit in the garage, ***** about RAM sucking, someone asks why didn't you get the...

    towing capacities

With 7000lbs you will never truly notice the difference. Your personal need for power is unknown to me...but overall ability will not be affected at that weight. You may notice a slightly slower acceleration from a stop and one more downshift on a hill. The door sticker only Shows GVWR and...

    towing capacities

My reply was to all the conflicting info and opinions. The gear ratio is the only difference. It is the ability to get the load rolling on grade and extra available engine braking.

    towing capacities

Max towing number means nothing. There is a whole list of rules for why the 3.92 gets more GCWR than the 3.21. There is no marketing magic in the GCWR number. Max towing and max payload are mutually exclusive. You can not have both. See my original answer on this thread Nothing more...
