Also, I think with the Rebel model, you can only get the e-locker rear axle, which you have to press a button to engage - and it will automatically disengage if you speed up above 20mph.
I personally think the limited slip rear end is more useable on a daily basis, as it is always 'on' at all...
I think the BW48-11 on-demand/Auto 4wd transfer case is now an extra cost option on the Rebel model. It wasn't an availible option in '19 and '20.
I think the standard transfer case on the Rebel is the 48-12 part time t-case.
Both have +s and -s. If you're going to do crazy mud bogs, rock...
In my experience with my 5.7 eTorque, an eTorque start will accelerate differently than an aggressive throttle non-eTorque start.
I think the MGU start (motor-generator unit, which is the 'muscle' of the system) motors (meaning spins up to do its electric motor starting of the gas engine and...
Anyone have an active TechAuthority subscription, and willing to share any available pages on the Anti-Spin/Limited slip rear differential? I'd like to see what is different in this new ZF redesigned model of the 9.25 rear axle.
I'm curious, because when I did a tire rotation with all 4...
In Winslow, AZ, during a round trip from Indy to Las Vegas for the Solo Champ Tour earlier this year. Truck pulled like a champ, totally comfortable the whole time. Extended family once owned a Western Home & Auto store in Indiana, so finding this one out west brought back memories, and called...
I've noticed that the fuel level needle stays on Full longer if the rear wheels are higher than the front wheels when filling up. Finding a pump with a surrounding slope going the right way helps, but during a recent 3,600 mile trip, I carried some 4" tall wood ramps which seemed to help when...
Alright, now I'm pissed. Looking at another post led me back to driveConnect.com, and looking at other options. Apparently the 1500 Classic in model years 2020 and 2021 can have 2 diferent 8.4" screens: 1) a "uconnect 4c with NAV", or 2) a 'uconnect 4c".....but BOTH of them have HD radio...
Hi all,
2020 Bighorn owner here. Hemi Etorque. Bought in late March 2020, and under 9k miles.
The ultra chilly mornings has brought the only defect I've seen in my truck yet....the transfer case lights do not like temps under 32f or so..... Watch the attached video (which I hope works)...
half tons (1500) haven't used Dana rear axles for a couple of generations, and it was rare when they did. Front Axles are a different story....
I think DS trucks used American Axle rear ends, and I think the DTs use a new flavor of the 9.25" Chrysler that is now made by ZF. I don't think...
If you've got a '19 2500 Laramie, I think it came with the Uconnect 4 screen, which is the 8.4" screen right?
It came with Android Auto (and Carplay, but I'm not an Apple guy), so you could use a usb sync & charge cable, run Android auto on the phone, and it would show google maps, navigation...
So after a little more looking around on FCA's sites....apparently there is a difference in the non-nav 8.4 units from Dodge to Ram. This is soo confusing, because this required programming and hardware engineering time & material for the different systems - and different part numbers.
Per...
I'm pretty annoyed about this also. Apparently in '18 and '19, most 8.4 non-navs included HD radio. I think the charger & challenger 2020 8.4 non-navs have HD radio, but I could be wrong.
I tested my 8.4 non-nav and realized the no HD radio during the pre-purchase exam. The salesman 1st said...
When you've bluetooth connected the phone to Uconnect, you're in the Uconnect environment and using its phone and audio features.
on 2020s (and I think 2019s) Android Auto only functions when one has a data USB cable between the phone to the Uconnect.
On my Moto Z3 with usb cable connection...
