That is great pic! :D Will Rebel let you cut "cookies" with rear end locked (but in 2wd) or does it think you are going too fast and unlock?

Thanks! It definitely kicked up snowballs, with a a few taps on the gas, no auto-unlocking (probably due to speedo not sensing actual motion speed)

I am jealous as my Rebel hasn't got to play in snow yet. :cautious: I read on this site from someones comment that the typical way that trucks from past with 1 wheel per axle spinning when in 4wd (in super slick situation) is totally different in these high tech trucks.

I would've missed it honestly, we were stuck with closed highways and got lucky with a place to crash on the way back - I only really went to 4Lo/Locked when pulling in/out of the driveway so I could creep - other than that, 4 high w/Traction Off was a blast

If traction control left on does it make it super sure footed and stops driver from over accelerating?

Yes and almost too much - on a normal fully snowed road (like in this pic) - trac was nearly transparent as I wasn't trying to over-accel either. but when trying to sharp turn into the driveway it felt like power was 98% killed and actually unmanageable, but then again it was my first deep snow with this truck

When traction control "off" does driver have full control of throttle or does computer still get involved?

I only did the 'Step 1' Trac Off (single tap vs hold for 5-10sec) and was in 4 high most of the time; and yes, full control of the throttle though it definitely tried to correct my 4 wheel drift when turning up a street; wish I tried the press-hold traction off method.

Appreciate your comments as to how it acts in different modes as obviously you have experienced snow driving. Does the truck ever apply brakes to an individual wheel that is spinning or is it an antilock function while braking only? Thanks!!!![/QUOTE]

Glad to give my insight, I'll have to post up in the 'offroading' threads just for snow impressions. if it applied the brakes during accel, I couldn't hear - ABS when braking was also very smooth, though I only actuated it once to test it out

Wow....that really makes me want to look for snow to try my Rebel! I have a mint 2004 Dodge Ram Cummins 2500 Laramie Quad cab automatic with only 63,000 miles that is loaded with limited slip differential and 20" wheels and Toyo A/T 32" dia (and wide) off road tires and it has poor snow traction for just simple snowy road driving. If its not in 4wd it doesn't get much bite and then when in 4wd it favors one wheel per axle. Of course besides non high tech like Rebel, it weighs 7500# with 4900# on front axle because of the heavy diesel engine. I don't know if it has any traction control system. It is probably night and day difference if both rigs were driven on identical snowy roads. It is a wonderful truck but certainly not refined like todays' trucks and rides much firmer as it has something like 8900# gvw. (????)

please do, sir
thank you
According to my dealer this module controls the lines and the splicing of all the cameras for the 360 surround view. They replaced it and my middle line in reverse is now there.

Finally was warm enough to detail the truck last weekend. Also got my slush mats installed. Still workin on building my storage for under the backseat. Picking up my Go Rhino RB20’s today, hoping it warms up enough to install them this weekend.

Picked up a new USB media hub to hopefully get my CarPlay working again.

If anyone has access to the console assembly schematics I’d be much obliged.

Awesome! Found the tire foam at Home Depot which gives 10% off for veterans. Cost was $3.79 a can OTD.

Thanks!

FWIW,

Lowe's also give 10% and it is tied in with their 'member' card which is scanned at every purchase... at HD you have to ask every time and a floor manager has to approve it (unless they've changed their policy)

Wow! i HATE greasy armour all coated tires, i just love deep black tires with NO shine. Well, after trying a million different products, i am shocked i found this one at Walmart for 3.97 for the can (did all 4 tires and had about half a can left : )

We're in the process of concreting our driveway so i have not washed my truck in a WHOLE month. i just can't stand going thru a car wash with a BLACK truck, throwing them 20 bucks WITH tip and it is NEVER clean and always has smudges and splotches and i feel like i threw 20 bucks to the wind.

So today, while i am waiting to be able to do a proper wash & wax , i just tried this product because my "brown tires" were starting to really bug me while i wait for driveway or for my husband to be free to take truck to DIY coin car wash....

This product blew my mind. & its touchless & waterless, no scrubbing, no rinsing....sprayed entire tire and within 15 minutes it was "black black" ... (i know i got to clean the wheels, that's NEXT : ) Great stuff!

That looks great - How difficult is it to get the residue off the wheels?

Thanks

Made another video of the results of washing my truck's door and wheel with waterless product : )

Looks good!

How do you get the heavy dirt and grit off before using it so you don't end up with scratches, swirl marks and other micro scratches on the black paint? With black paint I like to prewash with the water and even sometimes use foaming sosp to try and preserve they great black mirror look.

THAT'S what amazed me about the Rain-X product. I did ZERO prep, even forgot to shake the bottle! I would say AS LONG as you apply plenty of product, you're pretty safe from scratching, but i couldn't guarantee it! On the video below, i walked up to my "unwashed for a month" tailgate, (and was nervous about grit but hubby said GO FOR IT so i did :) Here's the vid of that:

I'm not saying that it won't take the dirt off, but the process will create a lot of scratches over time. If you look where that "wa!" finger mark was in the dirty spot with a light, you may see what I mean.

No worries though, many don't worry about maintaining the new finish on a truck.

Thanks for this video, I have wondered how the waterless products work. It's good to know that you are happy with the results!

i TOTALLY agree with "over time, or that ONE TIME you're not careful and possibly catch that one piece of grit"... When i was doing it, i would apply light pressure when FIRST wiping off, and once i saw i wasn't dragging any grit i would go over it with new piece of the cloth for the heavier wipe : )

BUT here's what i really think would make FANTASTIC use of this product and reason to always keep on hand: The times that you go thru one of the $20.00 car washes and you get it home and see spots were COMPLETELY missed, i would have ZERO qualms about using this for THAT : )

Thanks for your recommendation! I may try this stuff! :)
