Fox 2.5 DSC Suspension - A Brief Overview, Procedure, and Review of Proper Suspension Setup

**Heads up here first in case anyone wants first dibs..the Fox PEs aren't gonna work for me..I'm back on my Eibachs (now level lifted to 2.25"F/0.75"R).
The Foxs are about two weeks old with maybe a 100 miles use (they're off and back in box to go)..I'll be listing them on Forum on Friday.
Fox Preload & D&M Valve Tools, Thuren Boots & Mopar/Fox bushings, and Fox Instructions/Stickers included.
$3100 shipped to you.

Sorry to hear you weren't happy with them. Are you sticking with Eibach, or another change up?
Sticking with Eibach for the forseeable future..they honestly work well for me with the Thuren CAs.
I'm leveled up at 39.625"F & 39.75"R which is good enough for me right now..at a 1/4 gas tank.
I filled up the gas tank to Full and am now at 39.6875" at all four corners..level👍

no more boogie :(
jokes aside, sorry to hear they didn't work for you.

Guess I needed to do more boogie🤷‍♂️
No worries, I'll make some lemonade and move on👍
I went ahead and posted them in the Buy/Sell/Swap today.
hahahaha all good
what works for you is more important.

yeah my 2.5 DSC current setup is comfortable on dirt but it does sacrifice some on pavement comfort compared to before, but that's a tradeoff im willing to make. different scenarios so what works for you is more important!

Love how clean the Laramie's look with a Lift and Tires.
I'm thinking about adjusting mine slightly higher and swapping rear coils, only because I have the topper so the rear didn't get as much lift from the BDS 3". I need to find out what people have for measurement to see how much higher I can go. Plus the new rear coils are $300, so not sure if I want to.

Well, I hope it was a personal preference and not that the FOX setup sucks. I picked them up too...View attachment 209462

For me, it really was a personal preference thing.
My truck rides the best when dead level, which puts the COG/balance point biased towards the rear slightly, so that the rear feels like it has a slight load on it.
As set from Fox, my front ride height was ~0.5" lower than expected so I was biased way to the front, which gives me a ride that I hate!
When I pulled the Foxs off to jig them to adjust the COs up 0.5'-0.625", I swapped my Eibachs back in temporarily..(and I had already reset them to lift ~0.625" higher than when they were previously in..the rear is ~0.75-0.875" higher than previously..so I'm not actually dead level with the Eibachs anymore..and I can tell and am not totally satisfied now either).
Unfortunately, I strained my rotator cuff/bicep which took me out of action for almost 5 weeks (finally got a cortisone shot last week).
I decided to sell the Foxs since I wouldn't be able to get them back in for maybe months.

What I did notice in the very short time that I had the Foxs in was..they are fantastic at higher speeds on very rough roads! The faster the better, the rougher the better!
They are way better than my Eibachs for rough roads, but my Eibachs are very slightly better than them on smooth, slightly bumpy roads. BUT, if the Foxs had been set to give me a dead level ride height, and then the ride attitude I like, they may have been perfect then but I sold the Foxs so won't know.

I haven't lifted weights for almost 6 weeks now, and would still be months away from doing any further suspension work now since it's so f-ing cold here in Wisconsin now and my truck doesn't fit in my heated garage.

Don't let me experience with the Foxs dissuade you from them. I'm SUPER picky about my suspension setups..and given time, I'm sure I would have dialed them in. I would maybe consider pre-adjusting the Preload before installing them. My truck is very option loaded and heavy, so I only got about 2" lift..if they had given me ~2.5-2.75" as I'd expected..I'm sure they'd still be on my truck.

Great Choice! I like my setup!

Your truck makes me wish I hadn't gotten the Ramboxes so that I could put a topper on my truck also.
I like the Chevy Suburban look of the topper..and even though the Ramboxes have function, the topper would be much more functional (especially compared to a stupid basic Tonneau cover)..for using the bed.

Maybe check out this Forum post on Rear coils..very informative!
Gren71 has tried a ton of springs now and has a bunch of insight (he links where to get a great price on them).

OR..if you like your ride quality currently, just add Rear spring spacers like I did. They ride stays the same, since the springs are the same, but the height changes.
I have a 1"LR/0.5"RR and the RR has the top coil cut off..I'm perfectly L-R leveled

They make toppers for the Rambox. I've seen them before, but don't remember brands. So that might be another option.

I need to know max front clearance from say the RC 3.5 to see where I compare. I'm not trying to max out my CVs and have other issues. So if I can see where others sit, that would give me a better idea of raising or scrapping the idea saving me money 😂

Yep, I've been looking at those options..I like the one where you open a side windows on the topper, then open the Rambox..pretty slick.

I haven't seen @Biggiehorn post lately, but I think he was running the RC/RL 3.5"/2.0" kit..and ~35s, so could give you some measurements possibly 😉

Thanks!

How expensive are the special toppers for the Rambox?

I haven't been able to figure that out yet..seems that a number of them have been discontinued (probably low demand, high cost, shipping cost, etc).

Mopar flirted this at one point (wish they had made a whole topper)..⤵️
