Digital Key setup 2025 Laramie

Are we to get our hopes up that we might be able to get SPAAK after this TSB is successful? My guess is that this will be a pre-req for many of us, and we'll still have to wait for the rollout. I hope the crew on this forum keeps everyone up to date with any breakthroughs.

Next - if this bricks the DKCM, are there any impacts to daily drive-ability? If we're used to not having SPAAK, I want to ensure that the DKCM failure is transparent to us. I'm willing to go into the dealer and get this started, even if it bricks the DKCM, as long as it doesn't cause other issues.

Mine is “bricked” in that it’s setting an internal code. If it doesn’t work, the absolute worst thing to happen is that you can’t use SPAAK. Which to all of us we are already used to.

Thanks for clarification and fast reply!

There is a TSB out for the Digital Key now on ‘26 Rams. Tried it on mine and it bricked my Digital Key Control Module. Back order of course.

Will let you know what what happens.

If I read this correctly, if SPAAK isn't working by now it is likely simply due to the software needing an update?

That’s the way the TSB reads, but I’ve been working with Stellantis for a while and I can tell you there’s probably 50/50 shot it actually does anything to do this update. I can tell you for certain that it would probably take a couple days after doing the update for the app to update.

Hi everyone, we are awaiting further instruction from our corporate engineering teams on release timing. We are expecting this update to be released in small waves of launches to ensure a smooth and trouble-free customer experience, but timing is subject to change (and is not handled by Customer Care). As we find out more information about launches, we will keep additional forums in mind!

Thank you for the update!

I believe this statement about being released in waves and waiting for corporate engineering teams on release timing has been uttered several times in the past nine months. I purchased my 2025 Limited in February and was told this then, and have read it here a few times. I'm not getting my hopes up anytime soon.

Totally agree with this.
How they continue to advertise this feature for TWO model years now and still not have a release date is …. Many things, none of which are good.

Unfortunately we are definitely dealing with a feature that should have not been announced when it was. I think it’s good they are taking their time to make sure it all works like it is supposed to, but they shot themselves in the foot by making it sound like it would be even remotely ready.

This along with other features they advertised and sold, and we paid for… but have not been delivered. Auto park was advertised last year and in fact was part of the build guides until early this year. The 360 surround cameras for trailers is the same.
The SPAAK is not an isolated incident.

That is a fine answer to put this off, despite it being 18 months behind and still to this day advertised everywhere as a current feature... but what about those of us who don't even have our RFI keycards? My dealer gave me the run around for so long I gave up. At first they even said there is no keycard! Customer service sent me in a two hour loop one day from RAM Connect to Uconnect Services to RAM Customer Care just in a repeated circle. I got so mad I gave up.

You guys really give the impression that what you want is for us to give up. FWIW my first RAM ever was a 23 Laramie, which I traded in for a 2500 GMC HD ... and surprisingly ended up coming back to the exact same RAM model because I missed the RAM boxes and comfortable ride so much. But if this is the way Stellantis does business, then I will take my construction company's business, and the business of any and everyone I know,, back to GMC who at least won't straight up lie publicly in an ad.

Whats disappointing is that your product is so strong that despite a half done refresh it's still very compelling, and I really expected the truck's quality to be the downside. FCA has continued the improvement there started by Dodge. But Customer Service is exactly like it was fifteen years ago... full of crap, uninformed, and non existant once you pay your down payment and drive off.

The gall of a dealer who only sells RAM trucks advertising the digital key feature on their website at one of the biggest dealers in DFW and then acting like they had no idea what I was talking about was honestly more off putting than not getting my keycard. I felt really deceived. And one of our other guys bought a RAM the same time I did, and got the same treatment.

Rather than wait another 18 months Ill just go ahead and assume and you don't care to keep my business... since no one calls me back, no one responds to my customer service emails, and my dealer is the one who started the phone circle.

In 2010, I purchased a Ram 1500. It was ok and ran well, but it lacked luxury and quality. In 2015, I purchased an F-150 Limited. It was everything modern trucks had come to be known for: a great ride, a luxurious interior, high quality, not a work vehicle anymore, but a true family daily driver with comfort, and one feature that took me from Ram to Ford—the B-Pillar keypad. In 2020, Ram’s 1500 Limited was the Cadillac of ½-ton trucks, with excellent air suspension, a luxurious interior, and quality, so I went back to Ram. In February of this year, when I decided to look for a new daily driver, I was 99.99% on board with Ford because of the matching-quality interior and ride with the Ram, and the F-150 has the B-Pillar keypad. The one feature that kept me from purchasing a Ford was Ram’s promise (and my dealer told me it worked) of the Apple Key (SPAAK), which I presumed would be better than the B-Pillar keypad on the Ford for my daily use.

It is absolutely unacceptable for a product manufacturer to advertise, promote, offer, chronicle, and disseminate information about goods and services that its products provide, and then fail to provide those goods and services. In Texas, there is a law that specifically protects consumers from this type of fraud, and the consumer can recover three times the damages for an intentional act of this type—it is called the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act.

I would pursue a claim if I had the time, but until I get angry enough to take action, I will patiently bide my time and hope Ram rolls out the waves of release in my area.

Stellantis, this is not acceptable.

I ran into the same setup confusion when I first tried using the Digital Key on my 2025 Laramie. What helped was deleting the truck from the app, re-adding it, and making sure the phone’s NFC and Bluetooth permissions were fully enabled before starting the pairing process.

If the key still won’t activate, try doing the setup with the engine running and the phone held directly next to the reader by the start button mine only registered after that. Also check if your phone has any battery-saving modes on, because those can block the connection without showing any error.

You have the pairing tile in the app?

This is exactly the experience I have had with Customer Care. I have 25 Limited and I had an issue with my infotainment screen and the solution was replacing it with a new (remanufactured) screen. After a month or two I got frustrated and talked to someone in the Customer Care department. They offered to pay my monthly payments but that wasn’t possible because the truck was paid for. They offered to extend my warranty as many miles and months as it took to get the truck fixed. I accepted their offer. It took 6 months to get the screen fixed (no thanks to Ram Care) and when it came time to get them to extend my warranty I was given the runaround. Ram Care said they couldn’t do it and I’d have to talk to a different department. That department sent me back to Ram Care and then they sent me to warranty sales department. No one knew what the other department really did. All they knew was that it wasn’t them who could do it. I fired some nasty emails to Ram Cares and their response was apologetic but didn’t provide any help. During the 6 month wait time I had been reassigned a few times to different people so I can’t even figure out which one made me the promise to extend the warranty. No one has the power to do anything, they just refer you to someone else who also doesn’t have the power to do anything.

Like you said, their vehicles are outstanding but their customer care department is absolute garbage. You listening @RamCares ?

I wonder if removing the truck and then re-adding it will make it so the tile will appear? I guess it can’t hurt to try, right?
Please update after you perform this deletion, install the app, and check your RAM. I believe I have read that it was not helpful for others who have tried, but if it works for you, please let us know.

Thanks.
