What did you do to your Ram today???

Today, decided to rewire my kicker key 200.4 to bi amp the shca 3.5 neo in dash and kenwood 6x9 woofers in doors. In middle of doing it got a headache, so decided will do the rewire another day since I would have to run new wires to dash. When putting the key amp back in I decided to turn off compression switch and made a huge difference, sound volume now at 20 is what it was at 30. So now I dont think I will bi amp, sounds plenty loud now, sound quality has been good with the auto dsp in the amp, but now its a lot louder. It's cleaner sounding and louder than my 13 Ram with alpine system. Was going to do the dsp process again, but my luck it would make it sound bad, might as well leave it alone. Next 2 subs and amp, trying to decide which to buy(quad cab are limited on boxes). Anyone with base audio should consider the key 200.4 if you want good sound without going crazy. You can wire up the anc ch01 bypass harness to amp in house and just plug in, or go back to stock in seconds, nothing to run wire wise. The anc uses a 30amp fuse for the anc, when bypassed the key 200.4 uses 25amps, so can use the anc hot wire and ground, senses when radio is on, so no loc also. Been using the key amp for around 3 months, zero issues.

Congrats!

How’s the audio? That’s the most compelling thing in my mind of the Tungsten over the Limited. I know lots of variances, but for me, most compelling.

Seats sure do look cozy though…

Got some time to play with the Klipsch system. As good as the HK system is in the Limited, the Klipsch is far better. The HK had decent base and I would have liked a more balanced system but not enough to invest in changing the Limiteds as it was really good enough. The Klipsch has loads of base, and is very well balaced and is really really good; everything the HK system is not, the Klipsch system is. I cant imagine wanting more

The new ride delivered and as nice as the Limited is, the Tungsten is on another level

Doing paint correction and a polish this weekend then off to get PPF on the front and window tint.
Body color mirror caps, FitcamX, and bedrug are on the way
Beautiful truck I must say, and many things on the Tungsten I’d love to have, including that full digital dash, however, I just can’t get past that V6. Turbo or not. How is the interior noise with the V6 compared to your Limited’s V8? In my experience all turbo vehicles are a lot louder inside. I don’t see any reason RAM would be any different

The twin turbo I6 SO is very quiet and you don't hear them spool up. This may be because its an Inline 6 not a V6. You put your foot into the pedal and it just responds with enthusiasm. Just IMHO.

It doesn't have a V6, its an inline 6 which other than engine length are the some of the smoothest engines produced. No need for balance shafts and 40% fewer moving parts than their V6 cousins.

Where did you buy your body color mirror cap’s from?
They didn't fit, the description was wrong. I talked to the parts guy and he said there's no body color caps for 25 and up as of now. Its black, chrome and unpainted primer.
I'm either going to wrap them or leave them

To the bolded, that was actually one of my hesitations too but after having a Laramie SO rental for a month, that was quickly forgotten

Turbo engines are typically quieter than N/A engines and this truck is very quiet inside, not a lot of engine sound at all for the most part. I can still hear some engine sound (mostly when accelerating from a stop sign/red light) and my only negative to the truck is the 6cyl sound but that can be remedied as BMW and others have done. My wifes Jaguar XF has a supercharged 3.0L V6 and it sounds nice. Now the question is, does the I6 engine sound bother me enough to do something about it? That answer is probably a no

You can hear the 5.7 in my Limited much much more, its louder and that is the primary reason I never put an cold air intake on the limited, I didn't want more noise. The I6 engine sound just wasn't enough to make me not consider the truck. If the 25+ Limited or Tungsten were offered with the HEMI and the Hurricane was optional, Id still take the hurricane over the HEMI. The hurricane trucks just drive better, everywhere the HEMI feels lazy, the hurricane twins have power, even the SO. Id been driving a 25 Laramie SO rental since Aug 8, everywhere the HEMI was torque deficient, the SO Hurricane was not and the SO got 1mpg better on the same routes vs my Limited and that was with me accelerating a little more aggressively than I normally do.

Correct
It is silky smooth, the 5.7 HEMI is silky smooth but the Hurricanes are even smoother. On a hot restart there's been a few times when I've had to double check that engine is running after Ive pushed the start button

This is the reason I've never liked ramboxes, they almost always seem misaligned. I found that there's a tool and instructions to correct this so I bought the mopar tool 2069900230 and adjusted mis-aligned ramboxes. My trucks passenger side was far worse than the driver

I found a new tool on ebay and bid $65 and it was accepted

Also found the 10MM ram box lid screws barely finger tight, adjusting them will allow you to move the doors in or out 1/4" helping them to sit flush with the body line. I'll probably mess with the driver side a little more to get it closer but both sides took about 30 min with the tool
