Digital Key setup 2025 Laramie

Has anyone considered taking legal action on this? I purchased the truck in January and this feature is still missing... Would this even get far?
 
Next week, I will have had my 2025 Ram Laramie lvl2 for 1 year. I still have not taken delivery of features that were sold to me.

As to legal action, Tesla has been fighting several cases related to sold features that were NEVER delivered. It is an example of the enshitificaton of the auto industry. Just because everyone else sucks is not a good reason to suck.

Every time I open the Ram app I am reminded of and pissed off about the features that made me buy the truck.

GIVE US THE DAMN Smart Phone As Key!
 
Now the app is up to 1.98.7
No idea what changed. I might look in App Store for notes but I’m soured on the whole thing.
 
I'm on 1.98.7 (on iPhone) now, too. I don't see anything different from any previous version that I've had. I think the first version I had was 1.98.3.
 
Smart phone as a key still works great, but wireless CarPlay works only 75% of the time.

Also, got code P1DF3 which is related to a bad battery, I guess. So watching that. It went away after a disconnect and battery charge.

Also, my odometer was flashing the other day but was gone when I restarted my truck. So despite having an amazing feature like SPAAK, this truck has issues just like every other one.
 
My odometer has flashed at least three different times in last six months.
It resets after I shut off the truck. Makes me wonder if I’m I’m borrowed time.

It's nice to know that even the unicorn has some of these same software ghosts... not nice for you to be sure, but nice for the rest of us.
 
It only happened once my entire gauge cluster wouldn’t turn on so I couldn’t see how fast I was going and turn signals didn’t work. Was right by the dealer so took it there and when I went to show them it was working again. Hasn’t happened since.

I got my '25 3 months ago.

My 3-month trial (of the Assistance and Navigation packages) ran out last week. That means my RAM app no longer gives me the buttons to let me remote start, remote lock or unlock, and whatever the 2 other things were that showed up there. And I guess no more map updates for Nav and no ability to send a destination from my phone to the truck - which I don't care about at all as I use Carplay 100% of the time for my nav.

They want $15 a month for the Assistance package. I'd probably pay maybe as much as $5 a month for the rare occasion when I want to remote start or when I walk out to get something and forget my key but have my phone. But, it just ain't worth $15 a month to me. But I digress...

Do any of you know if the Assistance package (or any other subscription) is required for the SPAAK feature to work (whenever it does finally roll out to us non-Unicorns)?

If I have to pay that $15 a month to have the Assistance package in order for SPAAK to work, well, I will be highly pissed! But, I will probably pay it.

But I think there should not be any subscription required for SPAAK to work.

Supposedly, we will NOT need a paid subscription for the SPAAK to work.
There was a note that initial subscription was needed to pair the key, and if they had rolled it out as promised, that’d work fine with the trial subscription.
I really don’t know what they’ll do now - if they ever really roll this out.

I’m not upset that it’s taking this long to come for market. I feel it should be thoroughly tested and verified that it works to ensure there isn’t a huge **** show when it launches. HOWEVER, I feel the complete lack of communication in the matter is ********.

Even if you don’t have a timeline, at least say “hey we’re still working on this”.

Hell of a lot better than promising and never delivering.

Sadly SPAAK is not the only example of this.
 
Agree.

I work at a dealer in service and I deal with their crap daily.

If it’s any consolation, I had a ‘25 and now have a ‘26 and I feel the radio has more issues in the new one than my last.

Even better the radio itself says my connected services are not active but I can remote start with my phone. Makes perfect sense, lol.
