All,
I'm experiencing clunking noises from the front end of my 2019 Ram Rebel (ORP), occurring on both the passenger and driver sides. These noises have become more noticeable this year. As an initial attempt to resolve the issue, I replaced the sway bar bushings, but unfortunately, this didn't alleviate the problem. I've also thoroughly checked and tightened all bolts and nuts, confirming that nothing is loose. The noise manifests in two ways: a hard clunk or thud over small bumps at low speeds, and a sound resembling a bucket of change at highway speeds. The only noise I've been able to locate is shown in the picture attached. It has a similar metallic clanging noise when I tap it with my fist.
I have two main questions:
First, is the noise coming from the axle indicative of a problem, or is some play in that area normal?
Second, if it turns out that I need new axles, would this be covered under warranty? It's worth noting that I installed Eibach PRO-TRUCK SPORT SHOCK (Ride Height Adjustable, 2”) in 2022.
Thank you for your input and information!
