2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

I like my Limited (w/Night package) better than a Tungsten. I definitely prefer the painted grill and other non-chrome trim.

I would not buy a truck with cream-colored leather. But, I wouldn't buy the Tungsten with black leather, either, just because of all the chrome it has.

My '19, my '21, and now my '25 - all black with the Night package. I guess I have a "type". LOL!

Did your limited with the night package come with black or chrome lug nuts?

I thought Stalantis was getting rid of all chrome on their vehicles? The Tungsten was originally debuted with a body color grill surround and gray badges. Not sure why they changed it.

It’s basically a change in culture. When chrome first came out, it was all the rage. Then tradition. Now, mono color is the thing. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Chrome. I DO like a little bit of "silver" color. Just not as much as what a chrome grill and window surrounds adds.

On my last 2 trucks, I had aftermarket wheels that were silver/machined and black.

This truck, the wheels are all black - w/chrome lug nuts. Rather than change to black lug nuts, I'll probably change to different wheels, like what I had on the last truck.

If the truck has chrome, I’m OK with that even with black wheels… it brings it together.
For me though, with no chrome, it looks out of place with the only silver on the nuts. Thanks for the reply

I agree. But, to me, black wheels on a black truck always looks out of place, too. The black on the wheels never exactly matches the black on the truck. That was one of the reasons I changed wheels on my last 2 trucks.

Like I said, I'll take what ever improvement I can get over the old 5.7. If you don't want the 6.4 option, you should write a letter to Stellantis. I'll take the 6.4 over the 5.7.
I think the letter writing is going to be needed for the 6.4, I doubt there will be anything other than the 5.7(and etorque at that) as a base and the two 3.0's for higher trims

While I'm not against bringing the HEMI back....for whatever reasons, including "nostalgia and feel", all I can offer here is that with almost 20,000 (s)miles on my HO Longhorn, I would NEVER go back to a HEMI. Had one......it was nice, sounded nice, but it's really a slouch when compared with the power, feel and speed of the HO. I was one of those "am I making the right move going from a HEMI to a SST" guy....but I have never looked back. I even installed the JB4 tuner to my truck and I'm telling you, it's really hard to NOT mash the accelerator every time I get in the truck. And on the highway, with A/C on and up and down hills in New England, I'm able to get between 20 and 21MPG and that's at 70-75 MPH. Love this truck, especially the Longhorn interior. I've had no electrical/software gremlins (yet!!!) or mechanical issue, and I do my own oil and filter change.......in a suit....that's how easy it is.....on a lift. The only thing I would like to see is a little better mileage with the 3.0L straight six.....otherwise I would not change a thing. Might even trade up to a Tungsten model....if they change the color of the leather seats. I can not use a work truck with cream colored leather seats.....not with all the stuff I use my truck for. I trust Stellantis knows what they are doing. For all you naysayers about the SST; drive one......your impression will change....for the better. Wheels down!!!

I cant see buying a 5.7 truck over the HO or the SO either. I like the HEMI, I have 93K on my etorque truck now with no issues but it feels underpowered. The only way to make the 5.7 better is with some boost, nothing else done to it will significantly improve power without hurting economy or emissions

I will be buying a tungsten when the time comes, hopefully this will be an option along with no forced 3.92, 4x4 or ram boxes

I DO wish my Limited had a 3.21....

But, I LOVE my Ramboxes and Multi Function Tailgate!

When I traded my '19 for a '21, I only had 2 reasons: Getting an EcoDiesel, and getting the MFT. Everything else about the truck was identical and my '19 still had plenty of time and miles left on the MaxCare warranty. The MFT is SOOO useful! (to me)

I think the 3.92 will be the only choice with the HO, because the HO is paired with a heavier axle.

I had a 4th gen Laramie 5.7, and I really liked it. I had the normal issues with exhaust manifold bolts (and the air ride was a nightmare). I *almost* bought a '24 to avoid the SST and stay with Hemi. I'm glad I didn't (so far). The HO is not even in the same league with the 5.7 for power. My mileage around home sucks (14 at best). On a 300 mile trip on state highways I managed to get about 19. I'm looking forward to an upcoming trip on the interstate to see how it does.

I wanted the MFT, and that thing is awesome. Hands down a great feature for me. The RamBoxes are something I wasn't big on, b/c I like a cap. But I've come to really like having my tools and hitches right there, and not having to crawl into the front of the bed to get them out of a big toolbox. To each his own -- we all have different tastes!

The MFT I could live with, the Ram boxes likley as well. The only thing I really dont like are the 3.92 and 4x4 both of which I'll likley have to live with as well but I hope its and option by then

Totally agree 100%. I'm gonna get the JB4 as well.

See… you gotta buy the wireless, or wired connector separately, the app isn’t free if you go mobile and you need to use 91 for performance gains…
I’ll peas on this one. Interesting though. Thanks all for mentioning it!

What is JB4? I get the very basics, but treat me like I know nothing and you’re trying convince either to use this or not. I’ve always passed this sort of thing due to warranty (at first). But if I can improve gas mileage…. I’m interested

I already use 93 -- don't really care about the cost.

tuner for hurricane -- burger tuning. Makes it fly faster.

I thought someone posted that they might announce soon that the 6.4 is coming to the 1500? Regardless, the 6.4 was just a suggestion on my part to bring something different to the table that might draw more interest than the same old 5.7. I just purchased my 2025 last September, so for me, I have no plans to get rid of it anytime soon.
