If the 5.7 Hemi goes away in 2024, I'm out of the RAM

I've read a lot of hype about the turbo hurricane and I started to believe it. I test drove a few 2025 rams with the hurricane and all I can say is my 5.7 hemi has way more power and response. The hurricane feels like a 6 cylinder and there's just no way around it. It's not even close and I feel like Dodge killed itself replacing the hemi. RIP Dodge

You do know the Hemi is coming back in the 2026 model year?

You can't be serious. Having an opinion that you prefer noise over performance is fine, but saying the Hemi has better power and response, there is something clearly wrong.

I came from a 3.5 ecoboom, so I've got plenty of seat time with a turbo 6.
In no way shape or form is a stock 5.7 going to have more power and response. The power under the curve is tremendous on these small turbo mills.

Are you sure you didn't test 3.6L V6s?

I am a V8 only guy myself, but even I can admit the Hurricane has more performance in every metric you can think of. In every single published review, test, personal test drives (including myself), I have yet to find anyone with your opinion that the 5.7L has more power. 100% have stated the opposite. The 5.7L absolutely feels sluggish in comparison to the base Hurricane.

I can only think you confused the base 3.6L or drove a misfiring Hurricane, which is quite possible at the moment.

Guys, don't bite, it's all the signs of a troll. I'm last in line for a tiny turbo, but the one thing they do do is scoot (for a few years anyway), that's not the issue with them. The v8 will have a more visceral punch from a dead stop but once the turbos spool they'll put down more power, no question.

Could also be a bot, forums are crawling with them these days.

Honestly I think my F150 2.7L EcoBoost had more initial punch than my Hemi right off the bat, essentially no turbo lag, however it could also be the throttle calibration is not 1:1.

If it’s not a bot, I’d bet dollars to donuts salesman put him in a Pentastar. I have it on good authority those do feel like a V6.

i am a HEMI guy all day long. i do wish it had more power the PULSAR gives me a little more off the line where it needs it but the drive by wire is a bad system on everything IMO. when i did a 5.3 swap in my 92 C1500 i used a cable throttle and i loved it. i may get a banks petal monster on top of the pulsar. if i did it again i would get the monster first.
