Hey everyone,

I’m pretty new to the site, although familiar with the layout from being a member on the challenger forums, but this time with a 2022 Ram 1500 that I absolutely love.

I am looking into upgrading my suspension with either a level kit or a mild suspension lift. If I decided to go with the leveling option I am leaning toward the eibach pro truck stage 2 kit and I’ll add control arms since that’s gonna have to be changed too.

If I go with a lift kit I wouldn’t want to go any higher than 4 inches. I would be looking into something like BDS or another high quality kit.

My question is… is it worth it to do the level with the eibachs or is it worth it to just say f*** it and do the lift? Ideally the setup I would want to run would be a 20x12 -44 with 33x12.5 tires but I would possibly do 35x12.5 if I decided to go with the lift.

Any input from members who have experience with this kind of thing would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to do my due diligence on research before I go spend some cash on expensive suspension components.

Thanks!

I'm going BDS 3" w/ FOX Elite, because I don't want to cut the crossmember ( 4" plus required). So the extra 1" isn't worth it for me. Plus with the Coilovers I can adjust the front end. I don't like level though. I want a little rake.

As far as to level or lift, that's up to what you really want. I will say this, when leveling with adjustable struts, I recommend doing rear so all 4 corners have the same valving. So with that said, go for the lift.

A 3" lift will fit 35's. Anything above 3" requires cutting like @CHeYeNNe71 said. My truck sits 3/2 to give about 1" of rake. This pic is from when I first got my 295/70R18 Coopers installed, which are fairly close to what 35's would look like. The roads around my house are so rough my shocks are getting worn out under 70k miles, so the Eibach stage 2 is on my radar as well.

I'm running a Bilstein 5100 series leveling kit on my 2022 1500. I am only 2wd, but I'm able to run 35x12.5x20 Recon Grapplers on Black Rhino Calico 20x9 with 0 offset and no rubbing

Even with just a level, you will want bigger tires than 33's. They will look small on the truck.

I didn’t see a BDS 3” kit unless I’m blind haha. I wouldn’t want to cut the crossmember either. The eibach stage 2 comes with front coilovers and rear shocks and springs so I should be good right?

Yeah! That kit was my 2nd choice, but bit the bullet and went BDS. Many like the Eibach kit.

Ah I see the kit now it’s like ~5k with the elite coilovers. I’m not looking to spend that much but glad you enjoy that kit! I was gonna do the eibach and get some upgraded UCAs and call it a day

IMHO lift kits are just for looks, or muddin’.

If neither of those are your priority then a level will give you more options, easier install, better handling and less of a hit to resale (reversible).

The Eibach kit is the elite of the lower end kits. Very tough to beat.
